Lots happening at 'The Gathering' in Penrith on 24th Oct.

With only a few weeks to go. The people of Penrith / Penrith Business Improvement District bring to you

"THE GATHERING" - Saturday 24th October

Spread across the town live music, art, walkabout theatre, puppetry, creative workshops, food & drink. View Discover Penrith website for more information.

Mansion House Stage situated behind St Andrews Church hosted by Upfront Arts Venue & North Fire Sound. Music & entertainment will be happening under a large marquee provided by DTL Marquee Hire with kids workshops, walkabout performers, a fully licensed bar and food vendors. 12pm to 8pm

The Bandstand will be hosted by Eden Valley Artistic Network from 12pm to 4pm

Penrith Players will be providing the official after party from 8pm till late.

We always look forward to Vacherin Mont d’Or once summer is over 🍂

Linda’s favourite task is cutting out the first slice ~ such a satisfying job 🔪

We had our first delivery today, and the good news is ~ back to unpasteurised this season (look out for the red dots throughout our cheese counter for all unpasteurised cheeses)

We are very happy to be able to help in any way we can.

Sometimes, the smallest things can make the biggest difference 💚❤️

A huge thank you to J & J Graham of Penrith for their wonderful donation of £259.77 to Beep Doctors.

What makes this gift so special is where it came from. J & J Graham reviewed the small balances left on expired gift cards as of December 2025 (often just a few pence, sometimes a little more) and instead of letting that money simply disappear, they chose to turn it into something that can make a real difference in our community by donating it to our charity.

Even better, they plan to do this every year, donating those unspent balances to a worthy local charity.

We think this is such a brilliant idea 👏

No extra cost to customers. No fundraising campaign. Just a business asking, “Could money that would otherwise go unused do some good?”

Imagine if more businesses did the same.

Those forgotten pennies and small balances may seem insignificant on their own, but together they can make a meaningful difference to local charities and the people they support.

To everyone at J & J Graham, thank you for thinking differently, for supporting your community, and for setting such a wonderful example.

And to other businesses: perhaps there is an opportunity sitting quietly in your accounts too 😍
