“Rip off”

Small businesses deal with comments like this every single day, it’s something we need to talk about.

We’re talking about a 40p difference here. 40p. 😂

Personally, I’d much rather pay an extra 40p knowing that my food has been made fresh, made on the day and with quality ingredients, than save a few pennies and have something that’s been mass-produced, sitting on a shelf for weeks and packed with preservatives and ingredients I can barely pronounce.

A small independent bakery simply cannot compete with the buying power of a multi-billion-pound supermarket…and nor should we have to.

When you buy from a small business, you’re not just paying for the product. You’re paying for someone’s time, ingredients, wages, electricity, rent, packaging and everything else that goes into keeping the doors open.

So before calling a small business a “rip off”, maybe remember there’s a real person behind that business trying to make a living. ❤️

Support small. Shop local. And if 40p is the difference between you supporting an independent business or a supermarket giant… we’ll leave that one with you😉
