Third year running — Sage Bakery has won Britain’s Best Loaf 2026, GF category. Still can’t quite believe it! 🏆

The Seeded Rustic Bread took the top spot, as well as a silver medal for the Cinnamon Raisin Bread, and bronze medals for both the Garlic Chilli Bread and the Chocolate Cranberry Bread. The event’s largest overall entry yet, which makes it mean even more.

Huge congrats to all the other category winners! Thank you to British Baker, the judges, the sponsors, the lovely bakers we got to spend the day with, and most of all our customers — we wouldn’t be here without you! 🧡

Packed with flavour, lovely crust and soft and bouncy inside — this bread is infused with the warm aroma and taste of organic garlic, a satisfying spicy kick of organic chilli flakes and chilli powder, and a subtle, fragrant note of organic rosemary running through every slice.

CHOCOLATE CRANBERRY BREAD 🍫

Something new is here — and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you!

Introducing our Chocolate Cranberry Bread 🍫— the first of 2 new breads that I’ve added to the bakery, and it has been worth every bit of the wait.

This one has the delicious, subtle aroma and taste of chocolate, balanced by the brightness of juicy cranberries. The interior is soft and bouncy — sturdy enough to hold cream cheese, nut butter, jam, or just a generous spread of butter straight from the toaster, which fills the kitchen with the unmistakable scent of chocolate. It hits that not-so-sweet spot perfectly.

Made with wholesome ingredients that are nutrient dense and high in fibre and antioxidants. Certified gluten free, dairy free, and vegan — A little indulgence that genuinely loves you back.

This one feels special to me. I hope it feels that way to you too 🧡

Dear friends and valued customers,

I would like to share an important update with you all about Sage Bakery.

As some of you may know, I’ve been struggling with a physical injury to my back for the past couple of months, which forced me to pause my bread-making and deliveries to all the shops stocking them. Initially, I was hopeful for a speedy recovery and envisioned being back to the ovens by now. However, the recovery has taken longer than I expected, and after much reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to pause operations indefinitely for now while I focus on getting healthy again. This wasn’t a decision taken lightly, but I believe it’s the right one in order to properly recover and also maintain the quality of baked goods I endeavor to provide.

To those of you who have supported my micro-bakery, your encouragement has meant the world to me. To my fellow gluten-free community members who enjoyed Sage breads as a local, artisan option, I truly hope to serve you again when the time is right!! 🧡

In addition to the Seeded Rustic Bread winning overall in the GF category, feeling very honoured to have won 3 additional awards: a Gold medal for the Farmhouse Bread, and a Silver medal for both the Cinnamon Raisin Bread and the Buckwheat Bread!🫢🧡

The mission to create delicious, nutrient-dense GF bread began at the kitchen table with my own need and desire to follow a GF lifestyle a few years back. I am thrilled that I can now provide great products to the coeliac community and their family and friends alike! 🧡

Every single bread is made with care from the same 2 hands, 2 small ovens and lots of passion and patience (for when things occasionally go wrong 😑!)

We’re so grateful and humbled to announce that our Seeded Rustic Bread has been awarded Britain’s Best GF Loaf 2025! 🏆
We are delighted to have won this prestigious award for the 2nd year in a row!

It was truly an honour to compete alongside such accomplished bakers and be thoroughly assessed by a devoted panel of judges who bring with them an amazing wealth of baking industry experience! 🧑‍🍳

Huge congrats to the winners in all the other categories this year! There were so many gorgeous breads! Thank you and all the sponsors for producing a wonderful event which was a delight to take part in. 👏🏼

Finally, our greatest thanks of all to the fabulous Sage Bakery customers who inspire us to provide the best gluten free bread that we possibly can!! 🫶
