Hi cupcakes!
I hope youβre all keeping well? π°β€οΈ
Whilst Iβm not taking on orders, I thought I would share a lil idea for a treat you can all make from home π«
π«Gooey chocolate mug cake with melt in the middle Nutella and chocolate frostingπ«
β
~I had to convert and alter an American recipe slightly but will post converted recipe below~
β
INGREDIENTS
β
~for the cake~
β
π« Plain flour- 33g
π« Granulated sugar- 2 Tbsp
π« Cocoa powder- 2 Tbsp
π« Baking Powder- 1/4 Tsp
π« Salt- a generous pinch
π« Vegetable oil- 2 Tbsp
π« Milk- 65ml
π« Spoonful of Nutella
β
~for the buttercream~
β
π« Cocoa powder- 1 Tbsp
π« Icing sugar- 3 Tbsp
π« Soft butter- 1 Tbsp
π« Milk- to required consistency
β
~optional~
β
π« M&Mβs, chocolate chips, peanut butter to drizzle etc
β
METHOD
β
1- In a large mug (to allow rise) add all the dry ingredients and mix with a fork.
β
2- Add in the wet ingredients in and mix until smooth.
β
3- In a separate mug/ramekin, mix the icing sugar and cocoa powder with a spoon, then cream in the butter and milk (if required)- set to one side.
β
4- Put a dollop of Nutella on top of the cake mix in the mug- donβt push down or mix in as it will sink during cooking. (or sprinkle chocolate chips/ leave plain if you want plain chocolate cake)
β
5- place mug in microwave on a piece of kitchen roll (in case of any spillages) on FULL power for 75 seconds (may require up to 90 seconds).
β
6- spoon on chocolate butte cream and sprinkle with any toppings of your choice and enjoy warm β€οΈ
β
It had very positive reviews and from initial cake request to my step-dads tummy was no longer than 4 minutes- a super easy one for the kiddos to help with or a quick treat for you!
β
Happy caking π°π«
