As many of you know, I no longer make cakes, but this one I made for a friends wedding this week. A big thank you to Tammy Weaver for doing the flowers on the spiral frame!

I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that either bought cakes or donated!
19 jumpers are on their way to Many Tears Animal rescue….just in time for these cold nights…they are on a next day delivery…and should be there tomorrow.

many Tears Animal Rescue are looking for jumpers for their rescues this winter. Unfortunately I can no longer knit😪
So I have decided to do a cupcake sale. £1.75 per cupcake, normally £2.50 each These are basic cupcakes ( my hands aren’t good enough to do the intricate decorations any more) only 2 flavours, vanilla and chocolate. ALL THE PROCEEDES WILL BE GOING TO BUY JUMPERS FOR MANY TEARS. My daughter Cassie Brazier jones and I will be supplying the ingredients,boxes, time etc for free.
Delivery/collection the week of 22nd -28th September.
Orders taken now via messenger.
I have contacted Many Tears this morning, and I have the charity number if anyone needs it.
My aim is 50 jumpers…but would be lovely if we could get more🤩

Happy birthday to my beautiful baby girl!
This one was definitely a labour of love with one hand in a splint! ( as it was for family it didn’t matter, but I couldn’t bake and sell this cake with me wearing a splint)

This is a little 6inch cake I made for a friends daughter. Due to my hands being so bad I used fondant prints to decorate the cake.
Although I am not baking to order any more, I am still making very occasional cakes for family and friends, but not to the standard that I used to.

Here is one of the cakes from this last week, this is a 12 inch, 3 layer vanilla cake to celebrate Johns 70th birthday…I always sent a photo for the client to approve….the eagle eyed amounts you will notice the spelling mistake 🙈, in my defence Johns daughter and wife didn’t notice, but luckily his son in law did ( about 2 hours before delivery😂) so cake was already boxed up. I altered the mistake, but didn’t move the cake back for it’s official photo as it was too heavy

This evening as I sit down for the first time since 7am ( if you don’t count the car ride to deliver a cake) I hurt. My back is screaming, my neck is crunching, pins and needles down my left arm and a left hand that isn’t working, my right hand is sore, and I’m thinking “is it all worth it?”
I love making cakes, I really enjoy decorating them, and as much as I hate to say it..the Drs are right, before I do any major damage I need to stop baking and decorating cakes😥
So while I’m in pain, I have decided to announce the closure of “Made by Meirwen” ( if I dont do it now, when I’m feeling better I will just try to carry on until i bake the next cake and I’m in the same sort of pain)
It’s been an amazing 3 years, and I just want to thank each and every one of you who have supported me through this time.
I will keep the page open, and will pop photos of the cakes I make for family, and friends. I also have 3 to pop on that have been done this week 😪
