Thought it would be fitting, on the last day of the year, to come on here and share a little update. I started 2025 full of hopes and dreams, only to be met with the rising costs of running my little baking business.
Unfortunately, anxiety and sleepless nights soon crept in, and I knew something had to change. After many tears and a lot of advice, I made the heartbreaking decision to close my wee bakery base on Derry Road. I felt like a total failure at the time, but I was lucky enough to have an amazing support network who reminded me that I wasn’t.
I want to give a huge thank you to Rachael Weir and Phoebe Love for all your hard work, support, and friendship — I am forever grateful. For those who don’t know, Rachael and Phoebe have since opened a beautiful coffee trailer at WW Tyres on Derry Road, Omagh, called .coffee.omagh They create stunning bakes and their coffee is amazing!
After some chatting to family and friends (and plenty more tears), I realised I would truly miss baking if I stopped altogether. So, I made the decision to move back home and bake from there — and I’m delighted to say I now have my 5 rating at home (Where it all began)
Thankfully, I’ve found a much better balance. I can bake at home when I’m able to, while also having the privilege of continuing my caring work.
I’d also like to thank Jill
and Joann , where I rented my kitchen, for all the kindness, support, and friendship I was shown.
Thank you as well to everyone I’ve supplied to — past and present — and of course to my lovely customers. I’ve always loved meeting new people and seeing familiar faces who’ve supported me from day dot. Please never forget how truly appreciated you all are. Also thank you to Jill for letting me do pop ups over Christmas in her beautiful shop. 🥰
A massive thank you to everyone who has helped behind the scenes — you know who you are. And finally, I couldn’t finish without thanking my amazing mummy a million times over for always having my back.
Here’s to all that 2026 has to bring. I’ll still have my apron on and will continue doing what I love. 💛✨
