ever any room for imperfection and this is backed up by our numerous happy customers. Here at The Eatery we also offer a fully bespoke service for all our celebration cakes which is why we don't actually have any standard 'off the shelf' cakes. All of the celebration cakes we have made have been made as per our customers requests. When customers ask us what celebration cakes we do, we simply ask 'what cake do you want?'. We are always experimenting with new ideas and constantly creating new products to keep things fresh and on trend. Our kitchen is registered and inspected by the local Environmental Heath Department and we currently hold the highest mark of 5 stars. All food handlers also hold current Level 2 Food Safety Certificates.

After a few stints over the years, my time working with Billingtons Oldham has now come to an end.

I’ve been part of the journey from the very beginning — helping build the kitchen from what was originally an office, developing the first menus, and helping achieve and maintain 5★ hygiene standards. More recently, after closing at The Egyptian Rooms, I returned once again to support the team.

Over the years, I’ve stepped in when needed and always given everything while I was there — but it’s now the right time to step away and refocus on my own path.

I will no longer be involved with the kitchen at Billingtons, and any sweet treats and afternoon teas going forward are no longer created by me.

Like with my own business, I’m incredibly proud of the standards, bakes and reputation I built there over time, and grateful to the team members and customers who supported and appreciated that work.

On to the next chapter. 🙂

Christmas Together – A Day to Remember

Yesterday we hosted our very first Community Christmas Lunch, and what a special day it turned out to be.

What started as a room full of strangers ended with laughter, conversation, new friendships and full hearts.

Seeing people connect, chat, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company reminded us exactly why we wanted to do this in the first place. No one should feel alone on Christmas Day, and today proved just how powerful a simple meal and a warm welcome can be.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and trusted us with their Christmas, and also to those who helped make it happen with kind donations, especially St Patrick’s RC Primary who raised money and LWC Drinks. Also special thanks to Angela Professional Workwear by Stitchesrus for all her help with the food prep, and Marie Grady and for volunteering their time on our special day.

This was our first Community Christmas Lunch… and it definitely won’t be the last. ❤️

Christmas Together – A Little Update & Final Call

We had a lovely afternoon on Thursday at Billingtons Oldham welcoming pupils from St. Patrick’s RC Primary School, who raised money to support our Christmas Day Community Lunch. While they were here, the children also designed beautiful handmade Christmas cards for us to give to our guests on the day - a small but very meaningful touch that we know will be treasured. ❤️

There are still a few places available for Christmas Day for anyone who would otherwise be spending the day at home alone, with no visitors or company. If you - or someone you know - would benefit from joining us, we’d love to hear from you.

The popular Chocolate Orange Tart has had a festive glow-up! ✨🍊

First there was my 2018 Great Taste Award-Winning Baileys Salted Caramel Tart… and now that Baileys have brought out their Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur, of course I had to have a little play with the Choccy Orange Tart! 😍

A buttery chocolate pastry shell filled with rich chocolate ganache, flavoured with Baileys Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream and finished with Terry's Chocolate Orange Minis.

They’re deeeeeeelish. 🤤✨

Before we can make our ‘Award Winning’ Mince Pies, we have to make the fruit mincemeat first…

Left to marinade for 24 hours then baked low and slow for 3 hours. Once cooled we then fill into our delicious buttery almond pastry.
