The Landscape Moth

Full Moon — 30th May This month’s full moon card became a cinnabar moth. Unlike most of the other cards in this series, this one turned itself sideways into a landscape format rather than portrait. At first I thought I’d somehow got it wrong, but the more I sat with it, the more I loved that it refused to follow the pattern of the others....

The Power of Ordinary Choices

World Bee Day — 20 May For this year’s World Bee Day card, I wanted to think about the power of small actions. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by environmental issues and feel as though individual choices don’t matter. But I keep returning to the idea that ordinary people, making ordinary choices consistently, can collectively create enormous change. Recently I’ve been trying to make small shifts where I can — composting more, recycling soft plastics, planting pollinator-friendly flowers, buying less and thinking more carefully about the things I consume....

Returning | New Moon Art Card | 16 May

This new moon card features Oxford ragwort and cinnabar moth caterpillars — small fragments of nature that instantly remind me of childhood canal paths, collecting caterpillars in little tubs, and being fascinated by transformation. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve felt overwhelmed, unwell, distracted, and disconnected from some of the small creative practices that usually help me feel grounded. This card became a reflection on returning rather than restarting....

Walpurgis Night → Beltane: From Instinct to Action

The turning of the year always arrives quietly for me at first, and then all at once. Somewhere between Walpurgis Night and Beltane, something shifts. Walpurgis Night sits at the threshold — wild, untamed, a little uncertain. It’s the place of instinct, of listening, of standing in the dark and asking: what feels true now? This card came through as the wolf....

A series of seasonal art cards, marking the turning year 🌿
Made slowly, one moment at a time

The newest one came out a little differently than I expected.

Today’s card didn’t come out the way I expected.

Thinking about St George’s Day brought up more than I realised—about identity, history, and how symbols get used.

The Green Man stayed. The cross didn’t behave.

This one feels important.

I’ve written a bit more about it on my blog ↓

Today’s card came unexpectedly. I had planned to make something for St George’s Day, but when I sat down to work, it shifted. The Green Man stayed, but the red cross didn’t sit quietly behind him—i…

First Steps New Moon 17th April

For the new moon on 17 April I made this card, First Steps. The shape at the centre is an egg, inspired by Ukrainian pysanky and by the egg motif that has been appearing in the shrine pieces I have been making. An egg feels like the right symbol for this particular moon: something quiet and full of possibility, holding the beginning of something not yet fully visible....
