A small selection of projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on throughout June. From AI conferences to awards ceremonies, family portraits, artists and purpose-led organisations, it’s been another wonderfully varied month.

Some highlights included photographing inaugural Gather Awards at the The Forum Norwich , celebrating some incredibly talented people. It was especially rewarding to see Norfolk Museums Pass: Access All Eras by the Norfolk Museum Service win the Brand Growth Award after having the pleasure of photographing the campaign.

I also travelled from Norfolk to Brighton to photograph Create With ’s annual AI conference, documented a wonderful family I’ve had the privilege of photographing over the past four years, captured the energy and joy of Magic Acorns in Great Yarmouth, photographed all the fun at Tropic annual staff away day, and worked with talented artist Claire Coles - Handmade Wallpapers and Artworks to showcase her beautiful mixed-media wallpaper collection in a rose garden.

No two months are ever the same, and that’s one of the things I love most about what I do. Every assignment brings new people, new stories and new opportunities to create images that help preserve memories or communicate what makes a person, organisation or event unique.

Well this is exciting! I’ve been shortlisted as Freelancer of the Year for the East Anglian Marketing Awards !

It’s such a lovely boost, especially when I’m up against such a talented group of people. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing awards ceremonies over the years, so to now find myself on a shortlist for something it feels really special.

Over the years, both as a business owner and as someone who hires creatives myself, I’ve realised something 👇🏼

The best photography rarely comes from a quick, last-minute booking.

It usually comes from working with people over time.
The businesses and agencies I work best with tend to care deeply about how their brand shows up. They see photography as part of the bigger picture, not just something to fill a space on a website or social post.
Sometimes that looks like a marketing team planning ahead for the year and wanting imagery that feels consistent across campaigns.

Sometimes it’s an agency looking for a photographer who can slot into their process and support their clients naturally.

Sometimes it’s a growing business that feels ready for imagery that reflect where they’re heading next.
What ties those projects together is usually the same thing: clarity, collaboration and a shared sense of direction 💛

When there’s trust and a bit of planning behind it, the photographs start to really support the story a business is telling!

It was great to work with , a Norfolk based window, doors and home improvement company. They needed a fresh set of images to showcase their friendly team and quality products. Their passion for what they do and the level of customer service they deliver really stood out. It was refreshing to see. It’s a shame I don’t need my windows replacing at as they would be the first company I’d get in touch with.

I’ve spent five years capturing little snapshots of Jenny and her gorgeous son. It’s 90 minutest of pure play, chaos and connection - followed by a well earned cuppa! These relationships, and the warm, personality filled photos that come from them, are why I like this job.

As the seasons change, so does my approach to portrait photography. With less sunlight, images can appear flatter and lack depth, and the wind and rain often makes outdoor shoots unpredictable. So instead, I’ll be focusing on more indoor portrait sessions — combining interesting interior backdrops with bold, block colours added in post-production.

If you have an interesting building that would make an excellent backdrop for colourful portraits, please let me know — I’m always looking to build my portfolio of unique shoot locations in Norfolk/Suffolk.
