*** CLOSED TO NEW BOOKINGS ***
As some of you already know I’ve made the bittersweet decision to step away from my cake business to start a new chapter outside of the kitchen. After nearly 15 years it’s been an amazing journey that has lasted far longer than I initially intended and I’ve loved every minute. I’ve made hundreds of cakes for every type of occasion, seen many trends come and go, and covered off pretty much every theme imaginable!
It all started from being inspired by a ‘Noddy car’ cake tutorial by Debbie Brown Cakes that I spotted in a magazine in WH Smiths. I made that cake for my then 1-year-old then started attending the local British Sugarcraft Guild where I met the loveliest, creative ladies and learnt so much so quickly. By discovering a fascination with sugarcraft, having grown up with my mum’s home baking, plus needing something to fit around my children – Cakery Bay was born.
I want to take this opportunity to give a shout out to some people who have supported my business along the way: The BSG ladies (especially Jenny, Claire and Margaret), Paul for bringing my logo to life, Al for being my website ‘manager’ and sorting out my techy stuff, all my friends that have been my cheerleaders, my social media followers, my awesome family for always putting up with the kitchen chaos - and of course every single customer for trusting me to be a part of so many memorable moments. I’ve been so lucky having the BEST customers – thank you so, so much!
Goodbye for now and keep celebrating with cake!
Best wishes,
Louisa x
(PS. They say when one door closes another opens… I can share that Laura of ‘Bakerman’ will be opening the doors to her new cake shop in Brixworth very soon. She makes stunning cakes and sweet treats so do give her your support).
