It was pure serendipity that led me to this divine range of artisan gelato
On a saturday morning, like most parents of under 5s, we woke up to an exciting weekend morning of food shopping and a soft play birthday party. Last minute, my husband kindly offered to take both the kids so I decided to grab lunch with a friend at . The vibe was everything you would expect in a small village pub - warm, cozy and delicious food. We almost declined dessert until we saw the ice cream menu. Unique flavours that do tease! We had the hazelnut praline and after the first spoonful we knew we'd be coming back for more.
So this weekend, we did. We hit up the pub again and tried the black forest and strawberry and both were ๐ฃ. The black forest is certainly addictive and so not to break the bank, we looked it up to buy the tubs and found that it was made in-house in a local dairy farm only a few miles from home.
We called the farm and Gerald who's been running it for over 50 years invited us to pick up some tubs from the farm itself. When he saw that we'd brought our children, he offered to show them around. We said hi to all the calves, ahhed and oohed over newborn twin calves and mustered the courage to stroke the daddy cow who probably weighed a ton ๐ฎ๐
We bought a couple of tubs knowing we'd be back for more. Gerald kindly gave us the tub of apple crumble to try as well. They are stocked at plenty of farm shops in and around NN and Kettering. It's definitely going to be a freezer staple this summer. ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฆ
Let me know if you try some and which flavor you fancy!
