Artists Garden Cabin

Artists Garden Cabin A Garden... in Lowland Sotland. Once a thriving Market Garden, now in a quiet moment and growing int A Garden...... Moving for'ard into a New way of growing. But.

Still in the Scottish Lowlands, still growing veg, still home to a small tea plantation. So much more, and an inspiration to many an artistic thought...

On one of 'those days' when you know you aren't going to be able to dig in the dirt, well all those outside jobs that have been being put off due to lack of backbone, it's good to have a day of focus and making a good job of being inside. Ahh, possible that does happen to someone and jolly good for them. For me, nah, not so much. Then again its soon tea time and that's a bit of pleasure.
I have got the DVD player to work though. So I can delve once again into the old places and doings of pretend.

The swallows have, to all sightings, mostly gone on their long journeys south. There seems to be some tweetling at the nest of roosting. I'm longing for them to be off with their families, all be it sad to be waving them off and the summer with them. The heart seems to be only lifted again when the Geese come flying back to the Estuary.

On a cheery note; and on a bit of reflection, the list of done things is far and away longer than the still awaiting to be done. It's always a bit of a surprise how much has been done even though for some reasons the list always seems to be rather shy and has a tendency to hide. A bit more practice on 'looking at what the positives are rather than the not quite's.

Now and again you have to go back through the stacks and make sure all in storage are keeping well. Mostly its a case of a quick look and sometimes there's the pleasant reminder that what you put up a year ago for scrutiny ain't as meh as you have convinced yourself of. We move on as we must and aught. I have no idea when -or if- these works will see the light of day beyond a retro on an fb page. Until then a bit of a relook at a few old friends.

It's been a thought for a while. No idea if the choice of fb page title is the right one but for now it's done, for a while any way. Along with the change of fb page title there's to be a change of domain name for the website. Will let you know when the change has been completed.
It's seen to be a bit daft to keep on referring to the garden as a market garden when it's not been so for several years now. The garden still delights- if a bit overgrown- but the place I'm found more and more is on the work bench. It's a bit of a change although also something of a continuation. Any way, the garden is still a big part of the working day and at some point a reflection of what's around the work room and what's on the bench at the moment.

I can hardly believe it myself. For the first time in ages I have actually sitted my self down and sorted through the website pages. www.garrocherteagarden.co.uk I have no idea if it's any easier to navigate. But. It's rather more up to date and tidier. It's still a bit archival as the more recent work hasn't been added yet.
At it's best any website I have a hand in will never be other than 'a bit all over the place'.
Strangely the endeavor has been less fraught than expected. Doubt its me knowing what I'm doing more than likely it's just one of those things.... still it suits me no end,
bye for now I'm off to find the tea pot xx

Bit late but the week seems to have gotten away from me. Last time I looked it was Monday Afternoon and HERE WE are on Thursday Morning.
Anyway, Many thanks to all the friends that came and spent time with me AND all the folk I had never met before who said nice things. SUCH a long time since I exposed myself to folk at a Fair of any kind and all the more Unrestful as the collection was new to any fair at all.
Still we got by and I came away with some relief, a little regret and a bit of money. It was LOVELY to see so many familiar faces again after so many years and meet some delightful new faces.
My thanks go to Claire of Nest and Lesley of ReadingLasses who put on a very professional Pop-Up in the Hut. The ultimate in organisation.
