🍓 My first naked cake! 🫐

Something a little different left the kitchen this week… my very first naked cake!

Layers of vanilla sponge and vanilla buttercream, finished with a light naked buttercream coating and topped with fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, with a few extra berries around the base.

I was definitely a little nervous taking on a completely different style to my usual cakes, but I absolutely love how fresh and simple this one turned out!

Naked and semi-naked cakes are now something I’d happily take enquiries for, especially for birthdays, celebrations, baby showers and those who prefer a more natural, understated cake. 🤍

A very special Spidey & His Amazing Friends cake for Theodore & Elijah’s 3rd birthday! 🥳

Red and blue buttercream, hand-piped web detailing, those unmistakable Spidey eyes 👀 and a fully personalised layered topper made by me to finish it all off. ✨

Definitely a little different from my usual pretty cakes… but I had SO much fun seeing this one come together! 🕸️

✨ OUT OF OFFICE ✨

Katie’s Cake Kitchen will be taking a little birthday break from 30th September – 6th October while I swap the piping bags for birthday celebrations. 🎂🥂💗

I’ll still receive any messages and enquiries during this time, but replies will be slower than usual while I’m off enjoying some time with my family (and hopefully eating cake I haven’t had to make myself 😂).

I’ll be back to normal from 7th October and will catch up with any outstanding messages then. 🤍

Because apparently one birthday cake just wasn’t enough… 😂💜

Here’s 2/2!

Amelia’s second cake, this time for celebrating her actual birthday with the family! 🎂✨

We kept the purple theme and her custom handmade topper, but this one got the full chocolate treatment, chocolate drip, caramel drip and ALL the chocolate piled on top. 🍫🤤

Two cakes, two completely different looks, one very spoilt birthday girl. 😂💜 And obviously I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🥹

What a very special one for my own girl 💜✨

Amelia’s birthday party cake 1/2!

She wanted purple, so obviously we went FULL purple 😂💜 with deep purple buttercream, swirled piping, black satin bows, pink, white & silver pearls and a completely custom handmade topper inspired by one of her favourites. ✨🪄

I absolutely loved getting to make this one for her one of the perks of having a cake-making mum is apparently getting multiple birthday cakes. 😂🥹

A little late on posting this beautiful creation!

A very special first birthday cake featuring fluffy clouds, little farmyard friends, plenty of grass and, of course, a tractor! 🐷🐑🐔💙

I had so much fun making all the little details for this one, including the handmade personalised toppers to bring the whole farmyard theme together. 🥹✨

How stunning was this Vampire Diaries themed cake! 🌙

Deep black buttercream, blood-red drip, gothic red roses and a completely custom handmade topper to bring the whole theme together. 🥀✨

I absolutely loved getting to do something a little darker with this one, and that red against the black was just 😮‍💨👌🏻

🍓 A very special first birthday bake 🍓

This one was always going to mean a little bit more. 🥹🤍

My baby girl Dottée turned ONE, so of course Mummy had to make not one… but two cakes for her birthday celebrations. 😂🎂

I went completely strawberry obsessed for these and I absolutely loved bringing them together — soft pinks, strawberries, gingham bows and all the little details for our little berry girl’s first birthday. 🍓🎀

There’s something really lovely about getting to make cakes for other people’s special moments, but making these for one of our own was extra special. 🥹

🌈🦄✨ A magical unicorn rainbow cake for a very special 5th birthday!

Hand-finished with soft pastel rainbow buttercream, a silky white chocolate drip, colourful swirls, shimmer sprinkles and the cutest personalised topper to bring it all together. 💕
