Kim’s Kitchen — The Final Chapter ❤️
After five years, I've made the incredibly difficult decision that Kim's Kitchen will be closing at the end of April 2027. ❤️
This isn't a decision I've made lightly. I've thought about it for a long time, and after taking some proper time away from the business, I've finally had to admit that I've simply fallen out of love with baking and running the business.
There is another reason I feel I need to be honest about. Over the years I've poured an enormous amount of time, money, energy and love into Kim's Kitchen, and I've tried so many different ways to make it work. I've often felt like I've had to practically beg people to share my page and help spread the word.
I completely understand that nobody owes a small business their money, and I will always be incredibly grateful to everyone who has ordered from me. I have some wonderful regular customers who have supported me time and time again, and I honestly couldn't thank them enough. ❤️
But the reality is that the level of support I've needed to make the business sustainable simply hasn't been there, and over time the constant effort of trying to make it work has taken away the enjoyment for me.
So rather than simply disappearing, I'm going to spend the next few months winding Kim's Kitchen down properly.
From now until April I will no longer be offering any kind of custom celebration cakes. Instead, I'll be offering just three simple cakes:
🍫 Chocolate (obviously chocolate in colour)
🍋 Lemon (plain cream buttercream)
🍓 Victoria Sponge (plain cream buttercream)
All will be the same 6 inch, 3 layer cake and the same simple design with buttercream swirls, priced at £45. No custom designs, colour changes or alterations — just a lovely, simple Kim's Kitchen cake.
Brownie stackers, cupcakes, and cupcake bouquets will also still be available during this time but nothing else.
This will also allow me to use up the packaging, cake boards and other stock I already have rather than seeing it go to waste.
Kim's Kitchen has been a huge part of my life for five years. I'm incredibly proud of what I've built, and although I'm sad to say goodbye, I'm also ready for whatever comes next.
Thank you to everyone who has ever ordered, shared, recommended, liked, visited the Cake Shed or supported me in any way. And especially to my wonderful regular customers — you know who you are. ❤️
Thank you for five unforgettable years.
