Stevie & Fletcher 🤍

Congratulations to Stevie & Fletcher, who married last week at the stunning Ellingham Hall.

I first met the couple and their family at a wedding showcase more than a year ago. At the time, Stevie had imagined a semi-naked cake for their day, which is a style I don't offer. But having fallen in love with my designs (and my lemon cake!), they decided to trust me to create something completely bespoke, inspired by their wedding instead.

By the time we reached their final design consultation, Stevie's vision had evolved. She had fallen in love with hand-painted wedding cakes and dreamed of something sleek and elegant, combining delicate painted florals with handcrafted wafer paper flowers, which was quite literally music to my ears!

The final design featured cascading hand-painted flowers, inspired by the couple's own floral arrangements, flowing beautifully across the tiers. Handcrafted wafer paper blooms added dimension, movement and texture, while their soft blue and white colour palette ensured the finished cake felt completely at home within Ellingham Hall's beautiful blue reception space.

But one of my favourite moments came while setting up.

Fletcher's parents had popped down specifically to see the cake, and his dad told me he had a particularly "vested interest" after first sampling my cakes at the showcase where we'd all originally met. He then explained that choosing the flavours from Stevie & Fletcher's sample box had become a family affair.

I absolutely loved hearing that.

Because it was such a lovely reminder that a wedding cake is about so much more than the moment it's cut.

The experience begins months before, tasting flavours together, sharing ideas, watching the design take shape and building excitement for what's to come. It becomes something couples and their families can enjoy together long before the wedding day itself.

And then, finally, there's the moment when you walk into the room and see the cake that was created just for you.

That's why, for me, a bespoke wedding cake will never be just dessert. It's part of the experience, the anticipation and the memories surrounding your day. 🤍

Planning an Ellingham Hall, Newcastle or North East wedding? I'd love to create something that becomes part of your story too.

Jess & Nico 🤍

Congratulations to Jess & Nico, who were married last month at the beautiful Lemmington Hall.

From our very first conversation, Jess knew she wanted an elegant two-tier design with a soft, romantic feel.

As we developed the design together, we explored ways to introduce even more softness and movement, rough the florals and thultimately adding a beautiful blush pink ribbon to complement the florals and bring a subtle touch of romance to the finished piece.

The handcrafted peonies, roses and eucalyptus were carefully created to echo the couple's floral arrangements, ensuring the cake felt beautifully connected to the rest of their styling. Positioned in front of the stunning ornate mirror in Lemmington Hall’s entrance hall, it became a centrepiece that felt perfectly at home within its surroundings.

Receiving messages like the one I received from Jess after the wedding is one of the greatest joys of my job:

“It was absolutely stunning. My family were shocked that the flowers weren't real, they were so realistic! It tasted absolutely amazing too! We are so grateful for your part in our perfect day."

For me, that's what a bespoke wedding cake is all about. It's not simply about creating something beautiful, it's about designing a centrepiece that reflects your vision, complements your surroundings and becomes a memorable part of your celebration.

If you're planning a Lemmington Hall, Newcastle or North East wedding, I'd love to help create a one-of-a-kind cake designed exclusively for your day. Enquire via the link in my bio. 🤍

Caitlin & Connor 🤍

I first met Caitlin & Connor at a wedding showcase more than a year ago, and from our very first conversation they had a beautifully clear vision for their wedding cake.

They dreamed of an elegant two-tier design, with rich forest-green marbling across the base tier, contrasted with a clean white upper tier and finished with handcrafted florals. When it came to choosing the flowers themselves, they trusted me completely to select the blooms I felt would best complement the design, something I always consider such a privilege.

On the wedding day, their cake was given its own moment to shine, beautifully positioned amongst the guest tables in the magnificent surroundings of Wynyard Hall.

The finished design made an elegant statement within the reception space, while the deep green marbling and delicate florals connected beautifully with the couple's wider décor and styling. A true centrepiece that felt as though it belonged within their day.

And the loveliest part? Afterwards, Caitlin emailed me to say:

“WOW, our cake exceeded our expectations. The flowers were incredible!!!!!! And it obviously tasted incredible!"

Messages like this will never stop meaning the world to me. Creating a bespoke wedding cake isn't simply about making something beautiful, it's about listening to your ideas, earning your trust and creating something that becomes a memorable part of your celebration.

Would you dare to go square? 🤍

A huge congratulations to Kayleigh & Sean, who were married earlier this month at the beautiful Wynyard Hall.

When the couple first got in touch, they had unexpectedly found themselves looking for a new wedding cake designer. I was delighted to step in and help bring their vision to life, while ensuring the rest of their cake journey felt calm, enjoyable and completely stress-free.

From the very beginning, Kayleigh had a wonderfully clear vision for her dream cake: sleek square tiers, delicate marble detailing, subtle sparkle and an elegant clear acrylic separator. Together, we refined every detail, incorporating handcrafted wafer paper flowers to beautifully echo the couple's floral styling and create a design that felt perfectly connected to the rest of their day.

The result was a striking pink and white centrepiece that sat effortlessly within Wynyard Hall's grand reception space. The clean lines of the square tiers gave the design a contemporary elegance, proving that square cakes can feel every bit as romantic as their round counterparts.

The message Kayleigh sent me after the wedding perfectly summed up why I love what I do. She told me the cake was "my exact vision", that it looked even better than she'd imagined, and that it tasted even better than it looked. Hearing that guests continued talking about both the design and the flavours the following morning, with the salted caramel proving to be a particular favourite was the icing on the cake (Excuse the pun I couldn’t help myself!).

Moments like these are why I believe a wedding cake is so much more than dessert. When it's thoughtfully designed around your story, it becomes a memorable part of the celebration itself.

Planning a Newcastle or North East wedding? I'd love to help bring your own vision to life 🤍

A little taste of Sicily in Whitby 🤍

Huge congratulations to Tara & Dave, who were married last weekend at the beautiful Sneaton Castle.

When I first met Tara at a wedding showcase last year, she told me that Sicily held a special place in their hearts and had inspired the styling of their entire wedding. Having fallen in love with my luscious lemon cake, it felt only fitting that their cake should become a celebration of their favourite place.

Inspired by the old-world charm of Sicily, I created a hand-painted design featuring an aged mural effect layered over stone-textured fondant, reminiscent of the beautiful weathered walls found throughout the island. Handmade sugar lemons and delicate wafer paper foliage completed the design, bringing a touch of Mediterranean romance to their day.

The result was a cake that felt beautifully personal to the couple and perfectly at home within their reception space.

A true reflection of their story, their travels, and the memories that mean so much to them 🤍

Your wedding cake should feel like a true reflection of you and your day.

Not something separate, but a piece that sits effortlessly within your space, thoughtfully connected to your styling, venue, and the atmosphere you want to create.

As a wedding cake designer, my role is to translate each couple’s vision into something entirely unique. I work alongside each couple, taking inspiration from the most important elements that matter to them most and refining ideas until we achieve the perfect design for their special day.

When a cake is designed with intention, with both your story and your surroundings in mind, it becomes more than dessert. It becomes a centrepiece that is admired, enjoyed, and remembered.

If you’re dreaming of a cake that feels beautifully connected to your day, I would love to hear your plans 🤍

Vintage elegance 🤍

This beautiful two-tier design was created for Kelly & Daniel’s wedding at The Vermont Hotel earlier this week.

The inspiration for this cake came from multiple elements of their day, including the couple’s soft white and gold colour palette, their floral styling, the delicate embroidery on Kelly’s champagne-gold gown, and the timeless character of The Vermont Hotel itself.

When Kelly first enquired, she told me she wanted a cake that would make her guests stop and say, “Wow, that’s a cake?”

Every detail was thoughtfully considered to create a design that felt personal to the couple and perfectly at home within their celebration. Hand-painted white peonies and delicate foliage were layered over metallic gold fondant on both tiers, reflecting the embroidery on Kelly’s dress while enhancing the cake’s vintage-inspired aesthetic. From the intricate painted details to the elegant colour palette, the aim was to create something that felt less like dessert and more like a piece of edible art.

A true centrepiece, designed to be enjoyed and remembered.

If you're planning a Newcastle or North East wedding and dreaming of a cake that feels beautifully personal to you, I would love to hear your vision 🤍

Huge congratulations to Amy & Adam, who said “I do” last month at the beautiful Hotel du Vin in Newcastle 🤍

When I first met Amy, she had a wonderfully clear vision for her cake; an elegant design featuring soft tones of powder blue & white with blush floral accents, perfectly suited to their romantic spring wedding.

The couple also asked me to incorporate sugar pearls throughout the design, a meaningful detail inspired by their engagement cake and carried through into the styling of their day.

A hand painted initials plaque and subtle floral detailing added softness and refinement to the central tier, while the clear acrylic pedestal stand from added elegance and allowed the design to feel beautifully elevated within the modern space.

Thank you so much to Amy & Adam for allowing me to share these gorgeous images, beautifully captured by 🤍

A woodland fairytale brought to life 🤍

When Leanne and her wedding planner first shared the vision for her stunning wedding at Halton Grove, I knew the cake would become something truly special.

Working closely with Leanne, we refined the design together to ensure every element felt personal to the couple and beautifully connected to the wider styling of the day. Her wedding was an immersive woodland fantasy, filled with oversized florals, thoughtful details, and an atmosphere that felt almost otherworldly and the cake needed to feel completely at home within it.

Every detail was intentionally considered. Hand-painted butterflies inspired by the couple’s stationary nestled amongst the florals, crystal-inspired fantasy flowers echoed the embroidery on Leanne’s dress, and soft champagne-gold stone textures brought an old-world elegance to the design. The cake is blooming with flowers, which were designed to look as if they were growing organically up the tiers, creating movement and framing the hand-painted details in the centre.

This design involved months of experimentation, sketching and trial pieces, many of which were shared with Leanne along the way to ensure every detail felt exactly right before the final creation came to life.
The result was a true centrepiece that did not compete for attention within the space but complemented the wider styling and became part of the story itself.

After the wedding, Leanne messaged me to say:
“Wow, wow, wow… our cake!!! Simply unbelievable. I could not have wished for anything more. Thank you for making my dreams and visions come alive.”
And honestly, messages like this are why I love what I do 🤍

If you’re dreaming of a wedding cake filled with meaningful, personal details that feel completely unique to you, I would love to hear your vision 🤍
