It's officially autumn 🍁 Almost time for cosy sweatshirts and big fluffy socks. Although I've actually got the fluffy socks on now 🤣

Autumn also has some of the best desserts; apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding, pumpkin pie, ginger cake...I could go on but I'm making myself hungry 😁

So I thought I'd share a little throwback picture from November when I made apple crumble muffins with apples from our tree 🍏 I'm not sure how many we'll get this year so I'll have to wait and see. But these are yummy muffins especially with custard 😋

As we've been having some time away I don't have any cake or biscuit photos to share this week 🤦🏻‍♀️

But I can share how much I'm enjoying the break. I've almost read my TBR list (luckily there was a Morrisons so I managed to get another book), we've done lots of walking, lounging in the sun and as you can see Judd has done lots of snoozing 🤣😴

Right, that's me logged off for a week off work. I've got three new books and the goodies tin is full of brownies 😋

The brownies definitely aren't going to last a week but I can always bake more 🙂

I'm not very good in this heat so because I was fast asleep yesterday I forgot my regular Wednesday post 🤦🏻‍♀️🥵🤣

Thought I'd share this one with you today, the cake I made for my beautiful niece 💍🍰

It didn't quite turn out like the picture in my head and I did beat myself up a little. But then I reminded myself that the piping nozzles were ones I'd not used before and that I'm not a machine so my hands were a little unsteady.

But it was made with tons of love because I'm super happy for her and her lovely fella and she loved it so that was all that mattered 💕😊

At the weekend, we went to my parents for tea and I didn't want to turn up empty handed, so I whipped up a batch of coffee cupcakes ☕🧁

They went down a treat alongside a good cuppa and some family catch-ups. The best part? There were a few left over for us to scoff the next day too! 🤣😋

A simple bake, but sometimes the classics are hard to beat.

I thought I'd share this post just to show bakes don't always turn out perfect 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes I was gutted when they came out of the oven and I did beat myself up a bit. But after a stern word with myself I remembered that not everything always goes to plan. That's just life.

So I made the best out of it. I still got the three layers I needed for the cake I was making and the left overs made a great (all be it slightly misshapen) slice of victoria sponge that was absolutely delicious 😋

There's something so comforting about a cookie.

Fresh from the oven, slightly warm, with that irresistible smell filling the kitchen... it's one of life's simple pleasures ✨

It's Wednesday again, don't they come round quickly. The summer holidays are nearly here and I know a lot of you will have little ones finishing school soon and lots of fun things planned.

I've already been enjoying some time away from work and life 🤣 So I don't have any baking photos to share with you this week.

It's Wednesday and tomorrow is my last day at work for a whole week 🎉 I'm so ready for a break and the weather looks set to be sunny ☀️

My bake from the weekend, 12x chocolate and 12x vanilla 70th birthday cupcakes 🧁🥳 Sometimes simple classic flavours are all you need.

Happy Wednesday folks! Half way through the week already.

These are my horror fan birthday cupcakes 😊😱

Trying to make the black buttercream in that last heatwave was a real test. I had to pipe one cupcake and then put everything in the fridge for 10mins, then do the next one, then back in the fridge 🤦🏻‍♀️ We got there in the end though and I was really pleased with the result.
