Happy Wednesday folks!! Does anyone else feel like this has already been a long week 😴

I made some lovely birthday cupcakes at the weekend. Vanilla sponge and half of them filled with jam🧁

It took a while to get to this colour buttercream as I didn't want to over do the purple and end up with something too dark. I can tell you that as a perimenopausal woman, adding tiny bits of colour at a time really tested my patience 😂😂

Worth it in the end though as the colour turned out super pretty 💜

The weather may have turned but I'm still looking on the bright side as it's already nearly Friday.

I've got a busy month ahead. It seems a lot of people have birthdays in June 🥳

So this is a little throw back collage of when I baked 100+ cupcakes for my sister back in 2022!! Now that was a lot of cake 😁 😂

I'm not complaining about this hot weather we're having but it was a contributing factor as to why I forgot to do my weekly Wednesday post yesterday 🥵🤦🏻‍♀️ I was so warm that I was taking a nap 🤣

So I'm doing a Thursday post instead, and it's a yummy birthday bronut one.

I think bronuts are always going to be a favourite as what's not to love about all that chocolate 😋

Almost the weekend so I'm wishing you all a sunny and enjoyable one 🌞 😊

Apparently on average a typical smart phone user stores 2800 photos on their phone with between 3-5% being food. I am well above average on that front 😂 My phone is full of food pictures.

I also read that pet owners have over 200 photos of their fur baby at any given time. Which is about 7%. So today I thought I'd share a pet picture as opposed to a food one 🐾

This is our Judd enjoying his walk along the river, among the buttercups in Shrewsbury at the weekend. This is also Judd at the end of his walk which ended up being 7 miles 😂🐾

He loved it really 🐶🥰

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

This week is a gentle reminder to slow down, take a breath, and be kind to ourselves.

For me, baking has always been more than just cakes and treats - it's my little escape, my therapy, and a way to spread some comfort and joy 🧁💛

Whether it's a slice of cake with a cuppa after a long day, or a box of goodies shared with someone you love, sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference 🌼

If you're struggling, please know you're not alone. And if you're feeling okay, maybe check in on someone who might need a little extra kindness this week.

In honour of this week, I'll be putting extra love into every order - because everyone deserves a little sweetness 🫶

I'm loving this short week, it's already Thursday tomorrow which will then mean it's nearly Friday 🙂

My little bit of baking this bank holiday was chocolate cornflake brownies. Regular brownie but then topped with a layer of chocolate cornflakes.

These are not for the faint hearted. Yummy but very very chocolatey 😋😂

I forgot to do my weekly Wednesday post because I was out having tea with my lovely friend 🙂 So I'm doing a Friday one instead.

We've got Andy's sister and hubby for tea tonight so I rustled up a small batch of scones. I always think scones are really summery, although the sun seems to have gone in for the day now 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

A bit of a mash up of photos on this one because who doesn't love a cookie?!

What's the difference between a cookie and a biscuit? 🤔
🍪 Cookies are normally larger, soft and chewy
🍪 Biscuits are firmer, drier and snappier

I don't know about you but cookie or biscuit I love them both. In fact I've already had 2 biscuits with a brew whilst sat in my PJ's, and yes I know it's only 7.30 but it's been a day and I already feel like I could sleep for a week 😂😴

Half way through my first week back at work, it's not been too bad.

I'm also now fully recovered from our mountain climb last Wednesday 😂

Thought I'd share the last Easter bake I did before going on holiday. The ever popular bronuts 😋

So we're having a bit of a holiday and today we walked, no, climbed the Old Man Conniston. It was an horrendous 18k 🤦🏻‍♀️🚶‍♀️😂

Some of the views were alright though 🏞️

I am mostly sitting reading now with a glass of wine whilst I regain the feeling in my legs 😂
