My latest cake project....Crazy Maze Optical Illusion!

My name is Amanda Kateryna Wojak and I have been creating cakes and edible art for a few years now. I live in Wymeswold, UK, with my two fabulous children. I haven't attended any sugar/cake courses, so everything I do has all been learnt via trial and error. My favourite part of edible art is airbrushing, I just love the way you can add so much depth to your creation with it!

Me, Myself, and I Collaboration
"There are no strangers here, just friends we have not yet met"
-William Butler Yeats

Welcome to an international cake collaboration celebrating Friendship Day through an incredible array of cakes! We were tasked with using an artists cake as inspiration for our very own masterpiece. We truly hope you enjoy and we invite you to share your friends cakes on our page.

*4 Elements Cake*
I was thrilled to be given JT Cakes cake as my inspiration piece. It’s such an innovative design.
The two main things that struck me about his cake were firstly (and most obviously) the
structure of the floating cubes; I wanted this to also be replicated within my design.
Secondly, the flow of the tree that goes up the side of the cakes. The fluid like movement of
the branches made me think of the wind and air, which in turn made me also think about the
4 elements.
In my design, each cube represents one of the elements, Earth, Air, Fire & Water. The cubes
are going round in a slight spiral representing the flow of the tree on JT’s cake.
Each cube has an airbrushed and hand painted side, a 3D design side, 2 element symbols
and is finished with the co-ordinating colour of the element. The board has been airbrushed.
I purchased JT’s tutorial to create the structure for this cake. This can be found in his fb page.
