Baked at Halcyon was back on the production line recently, producing these bite-size brownie cakes for Oxfam Books and Music Market Harborough during the recent Market Harborough Literary festival.
I just love them - they're so cute!

The requests for this Chocolate Sponge loaded with Thorntons Continental Chocolates keep coming.
The birthday girl enjoyed her celebrations at the Lutterworth Town Hall which is a super venue, perfect for any special occasion...and of course, the advantage with this design, not only cakes but chocolates too!

When I left my corporate career behind 6 years ago, it was because I had lost the passion for business meetings and conferences.
Now my meetings and calls are to discuss surprise parties and cake toppers.
Just look at the happy faces in these photos!

A surprise cake, carefully planned by a good friend and including all the things important to the Birthday Girl ❤
Knowing that I helped, in a small way, to make someone's day extra special is so much more fulfilling than the boardroom.

Ok, perhaps we do need banks and insurance companies, but surely the need for cake is greater? 🙃

Mum Beryl, on labelling duty once again and doing an excellent job of these 500 labels.

Not bad going at almost 91 years of age 🙂

Wedding Cakes are always amazing orders to receive.
It never stops feeling special when Baked at Halcyon is chosen to be a part of a couples' big day.
However, when you get asked to make a cake for a Diamond Wedding Anniversary, that really is a Wow.
These lovely folk opted for a traditional fruit cake with a Diamond Shape to celebrate their magnificent 60 years of marriage.
To all those who ordered their wedding cakes this year. Shall I make a provisional booking in my baking diary for 2086? 😆

There couldn't have been a better venue than The Woodlands at Hothorpe which was just the perfect setting for this wildflower theme.

Rather than a Tiered Cake the Bride and Groom opted for three Standalone Cakes presented on a Bespoke Log Cake Stand.
Top Cake - Vanilla & Strawberry
Middle Cake - Lemon & Vanilla
Bottom Cake - Almond & Raspberry
All cakes were finished with Swiss Meringue Buttercream and decorated with Edible Pressed Wildflowers supplied by Nurtured In Norfolk
Each flower, leaf and petal was carefully placed onto every cake with painstaking precision. The pressed flowers are so paper thin that there was no second chance of moving them once they were applied. There was a whole lot of breath holding going on with this one!
The hard work was worth it, however, as the end result was stunning.
