How many cupcakes here? No, not 70 but 24. 😆

Cupcakes served in number boxes are a clever alternative to a 'number cake' and so much easier than cutting and portioning a large cake as a takeaway for guests.
Also, it allows for two different flavours, the '7' was Almond and Raspberry and the '0' Vanilla and Strawberry.

Prosecco whilst relaxing in the Hot Tub, then a Facial or a Massage all rounded off with Afternoon Tea.
Sounds amazing doesn't it?
Baked at Halcyon are excited to announce that we've teamed up with The Beauty Barn Leicester to provide the ultimate luxury spa experience.
Of course, before partnering up it was necessary to sample one another's product. Sitting in the hot tub in the sunshine with a cold glass of Prosecco, that was one tough 'day at the office' 🙂

With the rising popularity of Birdwatching and Twitching thanks to the recently aired 'Sam and Ade Go Birding' on Channel 5, I thought now was a good time to share this Birdwatching themed Birthday Cake.
As you can see from the name on the cake, this was for neither Sam West nor Ade Edmondson but I'm assured that the Birthday Boy was overjoyed all the same.

Meet my great niece, Liliana.
I have been making her Birthday Cakes since before I started my Artisan Baking business (and I think that shows in the earlier pictures - just look at the bulge on the bottom tier of that Frozen cake! 🙈)
I loved digging out these photos, it's so interesting to see the changing themes and it's a real visual representation of my baking journey too.
Love this special little lady, and still love my job!

A fairytale wedding in a Scottish castle. So beautiful, a perfect match, aren't they just adorable?
Oh wait!, you thought I was talking about the happy couple didn't you?
Nooo! I meant the cupcakes!
Three Flavour Profiles
Vanilla Sponge will Apple Compote and Cinnamon Buttercream
Almond Sponge with Raspberry Conserve and Vanilla Buttercream
Caramel Sponge with Caramel filling and Caramel Buttercream.
Each with a pipette shot of Brandy, Amaretto and Whisky.
The video shows the happy couple during the tasting session and I think I knew right away that we were onto a winner with those flavours!

My customer ordered this cake as a surprise for his wife's 50th birthday.
The following message came on a text the evening that the cake was collected.
A lot of work went into creating this cake, and to receive this message absolutely made my day...and them some!

"Hi Linda,
A message from my wife as follows- "Dear Linda, thank you so much for my exquisite birthday cake, you captured Paris in the most beautiful way and made my day. It's so lovely that I didn't want to cut it and eat it, but I did and it is just as delicious on the inside. You are so very talented my heartfelt thanks"

The couple in question do not use Social Media and wish to remain anonymous, which I, of course, respect. However, they did very kindly agree to me sharing their feedback on this basis. 🙂

I'll probably get into trouble for revealing this, but I'm going to share the Professional Baker's secret that no-one reveals?
Shush!!...don't tell anyone...it's highly confidential...something that only professional bakers know...but....well....it's that...We spend a LOT of time cleaning and washing up 😂
It's not glamorous, it's not exciting, but it IS necessary, particularly to maintain that important 5 star Hygiene Rating.
So, when I post photos of finished cakes, please know that this is the reality - rubber gloves, disinfectant, anti-bacterial spray and LOTS and LOTS of tea-towels!
