Cambridge junior parkrun

Cambridge junior parkrun junior parkrun is a series of 2km runs for children aged between 4 and 14. Cambridge junior parkrun is held at Milton Country Park every Sunday at 9am.

They are held in areas of open space around the UK. They are open to all, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. We are very friendly and want runners or walkers of all abilities to come and join us. Sign up online just once to get your barcode and bring it every week. We meet by the cafe just before 9am and finish up with tea and cakes!

What a lovely run it was this morning to finish off the half term break with the sun shining and Milton Country Park looking beautiful. 129 young people made their way around our course as well as many parents/carers for a good bit of family fitness.

We had 26 PB's today and welcomed 10 new faces, we hope to see many of them again. Well done to Rufus and Ona as our first male and female finishers and they also scored highest on the age grade %.

Many thanks to our 31 volunteers, we can't put the event on without you so we're always grateful. Next week is the Flaming June running event in Histon/Impington so that takes away lots of our usual volunteers so please email in to [email protected] if you can help out next Saturday.

Set to be a warm one tomorrow, and although we're amongst the trees so come prepared for it:

- Bring full water bottles for during and definitely post run
- Hats and sun cream to protect yourselves
- Lighter clothing, excess layers can be left at the start or maybe dropped by cone 1B (split to the finish).
- Find the shade after the run in the finish area!

We still have a few marshal spots open for anyone that can help us out. Would be good to have additional adults support where we can.

Our fourth weekend of triple digit finishers with 144 children making it around our course this morning. Congratulations to Noah and Poppy as our fastest finishers, Noah was also one of their 42 people that broke their PB, so well done to all.

Hurray! We had exactly 200 finishers this morning! We also had 15 under 18's helping as volunteers on everything from the warm up to the tail walk! Well done everybody 👏

It's been great to have Milton CofE Primary joining us the last 2 weeks - thank you to the school for all the encouragement 🎊 Today there were 19 first timers - we hope you enjoyed it and will come join us again soon 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🚶‍♀️
