Happy Easter! What is Easter without mini eggs? My husband's aunt celebrated her birthday today, so I couldn't resist a chocolate mini egg cake! Layers of chocolate buttercream and mini egg wonderfluff 🐣🐇

Not much baking going on these days, but we did have a big birthday in the house recently. I lost the will with the buttercream between a tooth removal and migraine, but the boy was happy with the end result 😊

Celebrating 70 years of my dad tonight, called for a comeback of the Harvest Cake - 6 layers of spiced apple c***r cake with brown butter & maple cream cheese frosting 🍎🍺🍰🤎

I thought I'd post the treats I served at my daughter's parties this weekend - some spooky inspiration for Halloween 🎃

🦉 Owl cupcakes - vanilla sponge & buttercream with oreo & smarties for decoration
🖤 Crinkle cookies
🐸 Chocolate frog top hats - these ones are vegan mallows & dark choc
🌌 Galaxy cookies - these are egg free as we had a child with an egg allergy, can also be made vegan
🦇 Spooky crisps - salt & vinegar Fright Bites, cheese Vampire Fangs, and BBQ Monster Faces (second 2 from M&S)
🍬 Sweet Trick or Treats - Jelly Belly Beans, chocolate frogs (made myself), gummy caterpillars and gummy toads (both from M&S)
🍓 Hagrid Cake - chocolate fudge cake with strawberry buttercream

My daughter turned 8 yesterday and we celebrated with a Harry Potter party. She requested a Hagrid style cake - I think it looks like Hagrid made it 😁 I tried a new chocolate fudge cake recipe with strawberry buttercream and it went down a treat 😋

O V E R A N D O U T
🖤
So many of you who follow my stories will know that I have hung up my oven mitts (for the foreseeable future anyway).
After a stressful 2023 with just too much baking, I fully sickened myself of it. And I can still barely drag myself to bake anything.
I had considered jam making as a way to reintroduce something more sustainable with my lifestyle - with school runs, and a demanding 2 year old. But after over 40 positive responses on my stories poll, only 2 orders came through!
I decided to reenter the workforce, and am glad to be back in the office. Creating this bakery really helped me as a second time mum, and I am glad I did it. But the time has come to say goodbye for now.
Thank you so much for your support, and please stay in touch as it may reopen in the future!

Change of date! Due to having covid this week, we've pushed back the date of this fundraiser to Sat 17th Feb. There are still some available to order, so please get in touch if you'd like to support this great cause.

My daughter (with my help) will be making her favourite crinkle cookies to raise money for National Deaf Children's Society (NI area)
We'll be doing a larger version than what I've done for past boxes. There will be 4 in a box for a £5 donation, and all proceeds go straight to the charity. Date for your diary: Sat 17th Feb.

To order:
❤️ DM to reserve a box
❤️ Collect from Millisle on Sat 17th Feb 10am-12pm
❤️ Bring cash for payment

These will be limited as we can't make massive amounts. You can donate more money if you wish!

Thank you for your support! ❤️
