Cottage Pie Ltd We are a small family run bakery based in Dearham, specialising in artisan and traditional breads. Fresh is best.

We are passionate about preserving time tested baking techniques. This ensures you will get top quality products that taste great. All our products are prepared and cooked daily at our bakery in Dearham, using fresh locally sourced meats, vegetables and dairy products. Baking starts in our shop at 3.00am, so baked today, eaten today.

Sandelands funeral directors made everything as nice as possible, and Jo from Laws nursery created a really special floral tribute which included all of Toms favourite flowers.
Thank you also to everyone who attended the funeral and for all the generous donations received.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Hodgson.
Tom founded Cottage pie in 1984 and headed the business until Covid forced retirement in 2020.
With a background in butchery he was especially proud of the famous Cottage pie Cumberland sausage.
The pies and teacakes that are still made today were all created by Tom, and because of their great taste and quality they remain firm favourites.
We are proud to continue his legacy.
Tom's funeral will be held at Distington crematorium at 2.45 on Friday the 27th of February.
The shop will be closed from 12 noon that day to allow us to pay our respects.
