Wow, I cannot believe that it's five years since I took a huge chance, left my full time job and followed my dream to create my cakes full time...and Bakes By The Sea was born.

I want to thank every single one of my amazing customers. It's been a real honour to be part of all your special events, weddings, birthdays, engagements, retirements to name a few. I really appreciate that you keep coming back to me to bring your ideas to life!

I've been a part of some fantasic surprises, secret cakes, parties and proposals and it's truly wonderful. A big thank you also to everyone who likes, comments and shares and my posts, it makes a huge difference to a small business.

I also want to thank my wonderful Hubby Chris ( Chief Cake Delivery Driver and Washer Upper) and my Daughter Lauren for all their continued support, who have the joy of messy kitchens, lots of pots, stressful days and long hours.

🌸Did you know that from the 7-13 June is National Garden week?🏵

National Garden Week encourages people of all ages to spend time in the garden, whether their own, a family member’s or a community garden. Show some love for the earth in celebration of this ecological, sustainable event!

There's lots of ways to get involved;
Join a local Gardening Club or community garden project
Why not get an alotment
Create a new flower bed or plant up some new pots in your own garden
Visit a local show garden
Join local projects such as the Wildlife Trust to find out how you can help nature through plants
Grow some vegetables
Visit your local garden centre

I've made so many floral, garden theme cakes over the years, so to celebrate this week here are a few of my favourites.

🎂Today we celebrate Avas 13th Birthday, with a real edible version of the famous Jellycat plush cake toy. Complete with candle, strawberries and edible tags, just like the real thing!

Inside are layers of delicious Madagascan Vanilla sponge with a yummy buttercream.

💮We start the week with a pretty in pink floral cake to celebrate Ayishas 16th Birthday.

Topped with with a pretty rustic rose bouquet with mix of dried flowers and foliage.

Inside are layers of Burnt Sugar sponge, Salted Caramel buttercream and homemade Caramel sauce, encased in chocolate ganache.

2026 BOOKINGS🎂

🎮George celebrated his 8th Birthday with friends at his gaming party. The centrepiece was this bold Playstation cake, complete with sugarpaste controller.

Inside were layers of delicious Chocolate sponge, with his favourite Terrys Chocolate Orange buttercream.

🦕It's a roar-some cake to celebrate Charlies 1st Birthday, who loves dinosaurs, and this one has laid some eggs!

🍾Wow, what a beauty and it's Vegan! I think I've probably done a vintage heart cake in every colour and style now, but there's something just so pretty about the pink ones. Especially when the sparkle catches the light, but it has to taste great too!

Inside are layers of delicious Vegan Chocolate sponge and buttercream. I've worked really hard trying different ingredients, combinations and recipes to get my Vegan cakes tasting as good as non, so I was super pleased to receive this lovely message from the Birthday girl:

'Hello, thank you for the cake it was absolutely lovely! Both vegans and non vegans loved it and they said you couldnt tell it was vegan. Will deffo be ordering for future bdays thank you :)'.
