Autumn & winter swiss rolls are LIVE! 🍂 ❄️

Along with usual treats and some newcomers such as my pesto & sun dried tomato cheese horns 🧀

It's a bit chillier today but nice and cozy inside the market.

Prepping for the market Harborough Market TOMORROW (Saturday).

I'll have my autumn / winter swiss rolls for the first time
Gingerbread cream cheese & cocoa
Apple cinnamon & custard cream
With gluten free ingredients of course.

As well as many of my usual favourites with warm flavours available.

I'll also have some of my scandi bread loaves on offer 🍞

Just a reminder that I won't be at the market today!

I've actually had the best week when it comes to taking a bit of a holiday from everything - but true to form - I obviously got a bit of a cold this week but it's not bad 😂

In other news - I will be introducing some of my scandi loaves in small amounts on market days & my offering after some extensive testing.

Warning, LONG post incoming!

Nearly a YEAR of trading!

The journey has been truly incredible. A year ago I was unsure whether or not it would work and incredibly nervous running up to my first day of trading at Harborough Market .

I've absolutely loved the journey of this past year and honestly, it has blown me away.

The first weekend I traded was incredibly busy and I fumbled with my boxes and tried to keep things going with trembling hands! The support and care showed by both the market & other traders as well as all the customers that came to see me during that weekend ushered me on to continue. That was when I got the confidence to continue.

After which the returning customers, all of you showing appreciation, love, care & the genuine interest in what I do. The chats and buzz about my products. It's all SO precious to me. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Can't say it enough!

Nord Bakes is and will always be a genuine connection to my roots back in Finland. The recipes will stay authentic. The flavours and feeling are here to stay. Nord Bakes is me doing what I love. That's it. And it becoming a part of the community here in Harborough is more than I could ever ask for.

Onwards and upwards - and with another Christmas on the way... Coming to the best season of the year! I will bring some of the Northern flair to my corner of the market & across my socials and website.

And with all of that having been said, I will take a bow and a moment to celebrate this week & weekend with those closest to me. I will therefore NOT be at the market this weekend.

So many milestones we've reached and smashed. Beyond our expectations.

Now I do bake bread for us for occasions but I don't really have a range for sale on a regular basis.

But I got asked if I could possibly make a Scandinavian carrot loaf for them and as it's a favourite of mine to have - I said why not give it a go with selling one.

So here we are.

CRISPY on the outside but moist and delicious inside 🥕

Yet even if I know it's a bread I love - it being something I don't sell really makes me nervous 🫣

Just a quick note ahead of this weekend - last chance to get my usual strawberry & cocoa swiss rolls until they return next year (unless you order one!).

After which we'll be saying goodbye to my summer swiss roll flavours as autumn is now under way.
