The darker moodier feel of Autumn always makes me happy!

You don’t have to embrace the classic Autumnal tones of oranges and browns if you don’t want, here I’ve used paler, classic wedding colours but set them against a beautiful dark wood table to add warmth and depth to the overall look and feel of the cake!

Add in some soft candlelight and you have the perfect recipe for an Autumnal evening cake cutting! 👌🏼

Well I think they are, even if it does mean spending that extra bit of time on a cake, standing back to get a clearer perspective to work out exactly what’s needed!

Sometimes it’s nothing at all and the right thing to do is to leave it well alone because it’s already perfect but sometimes I know in my gut that something is missing or needs tweaking and I don’t settle until I’ve worked it out and achieved the perfect result!

I do this because these are my designs for you and I’m not happy until they are perfect! 👌🏼

I’ve been getting so much love for my sugar flowers recently, are you a fan? 😍😍😍

From my couples, their friends and family, other wedding suppliers and of course my fellow cake decorators, it’s so lovely yo know that people appreciate the time and skill that goes into making them, especially as I love making them and using them within my designs!

One of the things I most love is moving through the seasons here in the UK and the colours and varieties of flowers that I’m making for weddings changing!

I love incorporating additional levels of detail that are only discovered when you approach the cake.
-
As you get closer, more is revealed, subtle but beautiful detail that can’t always be seen or appreciated from way across the other side of the room, all considered and intentional as part of the experience…….🤍

This cake design had impact from afar, revealed much more up close and yet still retains it’s contemporary simplicity and needed nothing else!

Not sure what style of wedding cake to have?! 🤷‍♀️ With so many choices it can be confusing and the temptation is then to play it safe by having what you’ve seen already done, what other people have had……..

I never assume couples are going to just stick to the norm, the perceived rules and will always explain the options and what this looks like and means!
-
Most couple for example stick to round tiers, stacked directly on top of one another and let’s face it it’s a classic wedding cake shape 💗
-
But I love showing people something different, and that includes shape and structure. It doesn’t have to be crazy or out there, by simply mixing the tier shapes you can change the look and feel of a cake, just like this one here where I included a square base tier - this then created a really clear structure for the sugar floral arrangements and a contemporary but timeless feel!
-
This can be done with real cake or even a dummy as some of our couples have chosen to incorporate in their upcoming weddings 🤍👌🏼
