A new month and a new season brings new beginnings! 🍁🍄🟫
It’s been nearly six months since moving out of my little shop and back home, which is where it all began 15 years ago. I’ve been reflecting on the last few months and how the business has changed, how the world has changed and how I’ve changed.
It’s been a difficult year, both personally & professionally, and one that has left its mark on me and in the process of it all I’ve felt lost. My confidence has taken a battering and I’ve thought long and hard whether to continue on this cake journey or to try something new. The pros & cons for both are long, the world is a different place now since I start my business in 2010. Running a business is hard and often not as successful as you think.
Social media can paint a fake picture but in reality it’s a different story. The pressure rising costs, balancing the books but staying competitive, and of constantly posting content is exhausting and the odds of success are usually stacked against us with the sh*tty algorithms! Which is why I made the decision to take a break from my social media platforms, hence my silence over the last few months. I needed to clear my head, be kind to myself, listen to my heart and really decide what was best for me, my family and my mental health. I’m not one for over sharing, so writing this is a big deal to me. But I’ve found over the last few months that it helps to talk and get other people’s perspective.
So I’ve decided to continue on this cake journey, because I love what I do. Being part of your event is a gift which create memories for a lifetime and I have great customers who continue to come back year after year, so thank you so much for your continued support.
