I'll try keep it short and sweet
from a small start making jams and chutneys out of my little kitchen in Liverpool 10 years ago, to braving cold wintry markets selling cupcakes in the Lancashire and Yorkshire countryside, wholesaling to cafes and transporting wedding cakes to opposite ends of the country, and baking and shipping thousands of postal brownies during the covid lockdowns even as far as Spain, France and Greece, it's really been a journey (cringe)
there's been days I've baked 18 hours straight to fulfill orders, it's been a true labour of love. but now it's time to hang up my spatula. from day one it's been about putting my love for food into everything I do, and using only the best ingredients, but now the cost of ingredients is too high. I've always absorbed rising costs, but with quality chocolate alone being triple the price it was just a few years ago, I'm no longer going to love it if I'm charging you 3 times more. i'd rather finish on a high and still in love with what I do
today any business needs social media to thrive, and I really don't love social media. social media companies have become openly hostile to minorities, and it's a space I want to spend less time in as an LGBTQ+ person
so thank you for everything. to everyone who has engaged with what I do, to anyone who has ever placed an order, and particularly to those who would visit my stalls and order my brownies every week without fail
you've been the best x
