Unfortunately, we need to address something that has become a growing concern.
This weekend alone, we are currently £171.75 short in takings. Whilst we appreciate that genuine mistakes can occasionally happen, a figure of this size is extremely difficult to put down to accidental payment errors alone.
As a small independent business, this is incredibly disheartening. We work long hours to bake, stock, clean, comply with regulations, and keep our prices as fair as possible. To see such a significant amount missing over a single weekend is upsetting and has a direct impact on our ability to continue operating.
If anyone has genuinely made a payment error, please check your banking app and get in touch so we can resolve it. However, if products have been taken without payment, please remember that this isn't affecting a large corporation, it's affecting a local family business that is simply trying its best to keep going.
This massive deficit has meant I don't have enough to get the chocolate needed to make Brownies this week because Callebaut chocolate isn't cheap, it costs me £130 for 1 bag.
This isnt the 1st time and collectively over the year ive traded over £800 of missing payments has been recorded.
To the vast majority of our wonderful customers who pay honestly and support us every week, thank you. Your support means everything and is the reason we're still here doing what we love.
