A little trip down memory lane… our logos through the years! 🧁💕

The first one I designed myself using Adobe Illustrator back around 2010. Looking at it now takes me right back to where it all started!

The second started as another drawing of mine, which a designer recreated digitally so we could edit it whenever we needed to. So many lovely memories attached to this one 🥹

Then, roughly eight years ago, we decided it was time for a rebrand. There was another local bakery with the same name and a very similar logo, which caused quite a bit of confusion, including customers arriving at ours to collect their cakes from them, and our customers going to the wrong shop!

We needed something that helped us stand out and felt more modern. I’ve always loved simple, recognisable branding, so we went for a fresh look with two colour way 💕

But for the memories alone, I think the middle one will always be our favourite ❤️

The cake that put us on the map 🎂✨

I’d only just moved into my very first shop and had never made a cake even slightly this big before! But I’d read a Richard Branson book that basically said, “Say yes, then figure it out later”… so that’s exactly what I did 😂

And it paid off! The cake appeared in all the local papers, on the radio and even on stage at the Trafford Centre.

A massive shoutout to my girls Stacey and Jaynie Bobs, who helped me get it there, and a special mention to Lee, who managed to get us a van at the very last minute and completely saved the day! He went along with our crazy idea, laughed at us and made the whole experience so much fun. This memory will always make me smile 🤍

Definitely one of the most iconic moments of my cake journey 💗

💗 WORKSHOP UPDATE! 💗

We’ve had hundreds of people interested in our FREE craft workshop across our social media platforms, which we honestly didn’t expect! 🥹

We’ve now allocated the limited free places across the different platforms and have tried to make it as fair as possible.

BUT… because there’s been so much interest, we’ve decided we’re going to run more of them! 🎉

Starting THIS SATURDAY with two sessions at 10am & 12.30pm in Accrington for just £15 per child. We’ve tried to keep the price as low as possible so as many children as possible can come along. 💗

This is a fun, homemade arts & crafts session — nothing professional or perfect! The whole idea is for the children to get stuck in, get creative and make their own creations. ✂️🎨

For £15 they’ll:

🎁 Make their own homemade blind bag
🍬 Fill it with sweets, chocolate & surprise goodies
💎 Make their own friendship bracelet
🎈 Make a homemade squishy using balloons & foam
🧁 Get a cupcake
🥤 Get a soft drink
🏡 Take their creations home!

23rd November 2023 — the first time I was ever sent an AI cake picture to recreate… except I had NO IDEA it was AI. 🤖

I genuinely thought it was a real cake.

THREE attempts, hours of my day lost and me nearly crying wondering why, after all these years of making cakes, I could NOT recreate this thing - it was just soo simple and perfect but not!!

The customer absolutely loved the finished cake ❤️ and when I told him how ridiculously difficult it had been to recreate, he casually went…

“Oh yeah… that’s probably because it’s AI.”

EXCUSE ME?! What?!?!! 😂😂😂

Back then I barely even knew what AI was!

So just a little reminder — these AI cake pictures are NOT real cakes. We can use them for inspiration, but sometimes what you’re looking at simply isn’t physically possible.
