The timing of coming across these words today felt incredibly poignant… 🤍
On Friday, I shared the pre-launch of Sweet Messages which is something that has been on my heart for some time. A simple idea centred around giving physical messages of love, kindness, encouragement and hope to people within our community.
Later that same day, I heard the incredibly sad news that Jason Arday had passed away.
Then today, I came across this clip for the first time.
When Jason was asked how he would change the world if he could, he said:
“I would take a thread and a needle and I’d interweave love into our society.”
Those words stopped me in my tracks. Jason’s words found me at exactly the right time.
There was something incredibly poignant about hearing them just days after beginning my own journey with Sweet Messages.
The heart behind Sweet Messages has always been about taking kindness beyond our screens and putting it physically into somebody’s hands — a small message that says I see you. You matter. Keep going. You are loved.
And Jason’s words have given me an even deeper way of thinking about that mission.
Sweet Messages: Threads of Love 🧵🤍
Perhaps every message we give is a thread.
Every kind word, a stitch.
Every moment of human connection, another small piece woven into the fabric of our community.
I don’t know whether to call the timing coincidence or something greater, but I do know that hearing Jason’s words today has motivated me even more to continue giving out Sweet Messages and to see just how many threads of love we can weave through our communities.
One message. One person. One thread at a time. 🤍
May his words continue to inspire us to interweave more love into the world.
Rest in peace, Jason. 🕊️
With love,
Reanne
