Meet hojicha — Japanese green tea that’s been roasted, giving it its distinctive brown colour and wonderfully warm, nutty, toasted flavour.

During our travels through Japan, we had the chance to roast hojicha ourselves, and it was an experience we couldn’t wait to share.

Now we’re bringing a little of that inspiration home with our Japanese Hojicha Powder. Perfect for a comforting hot latte or a refreshing iced one.

Nara: The Final Part in Our Japan Tea Adventures 🇯🇵🍵🦌

After a journey filled with discovering Japanese tea, roasting our own hojicha, grinding our own matcha, and learning about the traditions and craftsmanship behind it all, Nara was the perfect place to slow down and reflect.
From wandering through temples and spending time with the deer, to enjoying one last hojicha latte and a playful morning at Nara’s toy museum, we soaked up every last moment.

Leaving Japan was bittersweet, but we’re coming home with so much inspiration, new ideas, and an even deeper appreciation for Japanese tea and culture.

And the best part? This journey doesn’t end here. We’ve been working on bringing a little of what we experienced back home and into our own products.

📦 Annual Leave & Shipping Update 🌿

Just a little heads-up to let you know that I’ll be taking a few days annual leave in September.

Any orders placed between 13th and 23rd September will likely be shipped from Monday 28th September onwards.

As a reminder, our usual tea packing days are Saturday and Sunday, with parcels normally shipped on Mondays.

Shipping schedule:
🌿 13th–23rd September – Orders can still be placed as usual
📦 26th & 27th September – Tea packing resumes
🚚 Monday 28th September onwards – Shipping resumes

There may be a little catching up to do when I return, so please bear with me while I work through your lovely orders.

We are soft launching this new product in our shop this weekend & it is also available as a drink in our tea studio cafe.

Learning what really makes matcha so special 🍵
From slowly grinding tencha into matcha with a traditional stone mill to whisking our own bowl, this workshop gave us a whole new appreciation for the craftsmanship behind every cup.
And yes... the matcha ice cream tasted even better with the matcha we’d ground ourselves.
