Another catch up photo, more to follow too, sorry!

This little cake was a lot more trouble than it looks! It wasn't the cake itself, but the weather. It was made during one of the hottest weeks of the year and delivered on the hottest day. Needless to say, none of the ingredients wanted to play ball, and that caused a few sleepless nights. Nevertheless, I think you'll agree it was worth the effort, a real gem!

I really enjoyed making such a wide range of different sugar flowers including nigella, cornflowers, scabious, ferns, freesias and alstroemeria. Definitely one of my favourites and for such a lovely couple couple too.

Catching up with some pictures of my cakes I didn't get round to posting over the crazy summer!

This one was for a lovely couple, Kate and Paul. The red sugar roses fitted in perfectly with the red and white colour scheme of the venue and the smell of the rich chocolate icing and dark chocolate ganache drips was divine.

Congratulations Charlotte and Stephen! I loved making your cake and thought it looked stunning in the lovely setting of The Old Kent Barn.

Charlotte and Stephen chose three deep tiers of chocolate mud cake with Oreo pieces, red velvet and a coffee cake. The tiers were decorated in a sparkly, bespoke, blush lace icing to match the brides dress, teal blue to match the bridesmaids' dresses and marble fondant picking up on the
Greek Gods theme and tying in all the colours. This followed through into the sugar flowers which along with pink peonies and ivory roses also incorporated sugar olives and olive branches. I hope they enjoyed it!

Another one from May, it's been a busy time recently, more to follow once I've sorted out the pictures.

Combining the bride and groom's favourite colours (orange and purple) with their heart theme to create a a pretty little cake for their Hop Farm wedding.

They chose vanilla and lemon for the big cakes surrounded by spiced carrot, red velvet and gluten free chocolate mini cupcakes.

A beautiful cake for a beautiful day - my own Royal (blue) wedding cake from Saturday. Not lemon and elderflower, as had by the Royals, but scrumptious white chocolate and raspberry, almond and cherry and chocolate mud. A simple, elegant, but very pretty cake. Congratulations Zoe and Joseph.

Last year I made their wedding cake, this year I was honoured to be asked to make a 90th birthday cake for this lovely couple's Nan - a plain and simple, yet delicious, Victoria Sponge with freshly made raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. Congratulations to your Nan on her 90th Birthday, and I hope she enjoyed the cake!
