If you have an up coming cake order, please read.
☀️A little reminder as the warmer weather arrives ☀️
With the temperatures starting to rise and lots of custom cake orders booked in over the coming weeks, I just wanted to share a few important transport tips to help keep your cakes looking their absolute best.
Every cake that leaves my kitchen has had hours of preparation, baking, decorating and careful finishing. From stacking and filling to intricate decorations and final touches, a huge amount of time, effort and care goes into every single order.
Unfortunately, once a cake leaves my possession, I can no longer control how it is transported or stored. Warm weather can cause buttercream to soften, fillings to become unstable and decorations to move, even over relatively short journeys.
🚗 When collecting your cake, please:
• Use air conditioning in the car if possible.
• Place the cake on a completely flat surface, ideally the boot or footwell.
• Avoid placing cakes on laps.
• Avoid placing cakes on car seats, even if seat-belted in.
• Drive carefully around corners, speed bumps and sudden braking.
• Take the cake directly home where possible rather than running errands with it in the car.
• Store it according to the instructions provided.
Please remember that cakes are delicate creations and not designed to withstand excessive heat or movement.
As much as I would love to help every customer should an accident happen, I have a very busy schedule with multiple custom orders each week. I won’t always have the time, ingredients or availability to repair or remake a cake at short notice if it becomes damaged during transport or from being left in warm conditions.
Thank you so much for your understanding and for helping me ensure your cake arrives home safely and looks just as beautiful when it’s served as it did when it left my kitchen.
I can’t wait to create all of your upcoming orders! 🎂
