The Royal Oak Community Pub If you are looking for the pub’s trading page it is “The Royal Oak, Rushton” As a community we have come together to save our local pub.

We have bought shares and are in the process of buying the pub for our community. The aim is to run it as a free-house offering good beer and food at realistic prices. We also want to add things that the community want e.g. parcel drop off, coffee shop etc and over time add a shop and B&B. We want to offer a really warm welcome to everyone and get people to come to the Royal Oak as their favoured place. Please come and check us out.

Tuesday is Pie Night at the The Royal Oak, Rushton that means you can celebrate National pie day in style.

Pie and a pint or medium glass of house wine or soft drink for Only £15.....WOW. Pies come with mash or chips and veg and gravy.

Apparently there is a rumour around the village that the Tenants from the Oak are leaving. This is not true.
Sadly the tenants from the Knot are leaving the village and I presume this is how the rumour started. Just wanted to set the record straight before the rumour gets a life of its own.

The oak is now open serving food inside. What a transformation. Well worth a visit and some really interesting vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options on the menu alongside meat options of course.
The new tenants and team have worked really hard to deliver a transformed pub. Why not go down and see what they have achieved?

All change at the Royal Oak!
It was great to hear the roadmap out of lockdown but the speed at which weddings will be allowed has given the Heaths a pretty busy schedule. They therefore reluctantly decided that they must give notice on the pub.
We are in the fortunate position of finding new tenants and will lease the pub to Grania, Paul and Jonny from the 1st April. They have extensive pub experience. You may recognise Paul as he runs the Ship in Wincle. Grania will live at and run the pub.
The three of them want to give the pub a bit of a makeover before opening aiming to open in as soon as COVID rules allow.
A big thank you to the Heaths for what they have done and a huge welcome to Grania, Paul and Jonny.

I am very pleased to announce The Royal Oak is set to reopen under new management.
The Heath’s, owners of Heaton House Farm Wedding Venue, and have over 20 years experience in the Hospitality Industry will be managing the pub, initially on a 6-month lease.
Their plan is to initially open to serve drinks as soon as it is possible to do so following COVID-19 safety regulations, then the Head Chef of Stable Yard Catering will join to serve a delicious menu featuring local produce as well as homegrown vegetables and lamb from the farm.
Following on from this, they will then be looking to expand community activities such as themed nights, swap shops and Cask Ale week. They are keen to listen to ideas from locals on anything else that people would like.
