D A L V E Y C U P C H A R I T Y G O L F D A Y

Here’s our team of 4 representing our wee bakery at the Dalvey cup charity golf event at Lytham Green drive golf course ⛳️ in aid of Manchester Foundation Trust Charity

So what is the Dalvey Cup Club? It’s a rather lovely old-school tradition 🩵

The tradition is:

* 🥃 You don’t buy your own Dalvey Cup — someone who is already part of the tradition gifts one to you.
* 🔢 Cups are numbered, so each person has their own individual cup.
* 🤝 If two members meet and one has forgotten their cup, the tradition says the person without their cup buys the drinks.
* 🥂 Members use them when they get together for drinks or important occasions.
* 🎄 One of the biggest traditions is at 3pm on Christmas Day, when members raise their cups and toast “To absent friends.”
* ❤️ When a member dies, their cup is used for a final toast and can be placed on their coffin.

1 9 4 0 ‘ S W E E K E N D 🇬🇧

This weekend, Lytham takes a step back in time to the 1940s, remembering the people, sacrifices and incredible community spirit of the Second World War era.

The weekend celebrates life on the home front, as well as honouring those who served and those who made sacrifices during the war. Expect vintage vehicles, wartime displays, live music, dancing, 1940s fashion, military re-enactments and plenty of nostalgia as Lytham comes alive in true 1940s style. ❤️

It’s a wonderful opportunity for generations to come together, learn about the past and remember the resilience and spirit of those who lived through such an important period in our history.

We’re proud to be part of our local Lytham community and we can’t wait to see the town dressed up for another fantastic Lytham 1940s Weekend! 🇬🇧❤️ Catch us on the green for everything PB 🩵🩵🩵🩵

CUSTOMER NOTICE

Tomorrow morning, at approximately 11am, we will be briefly closing the bakery for around 15 minutes to pay our respects to our much-loved staff member, Cath Marsden, who sadly passed away following a very short illness.

Cath will be passing the bakery as we say our final farewell, and we kindly ask for your understanding and respect during this short closure.

We will resume service as soon as Cath has passed.

Thank you for your kindness, understanding and cooperation during this difficult time. ❤️
