Pretty Bakes by Marie creates bespoke birthday, wedding and celebration cakes that transform your special moments into unforgettable centrepieces.

Based in Ifold, West Sussex, I create handcrafted cakes for customers across West Sussex and Surrey. All my products are made to order and priced accordingly. I offer design ideas - all I need from you is a rough style idea you have in mind, colours, decorations, cake flavour and number of portions that you need. If possible, please allow two week's notice when ordering. Collection is from Ifold,

West Sussex. I will deliver for a small charge to surrounding villages (Plaistow, Kirdford, Wisborough Green, Loxwood, Rudgwick). Payment is by bank transfer. A deposit will be required to confirm your booking. Balance to be paid 1 week before collection day.

If you’re new to this page, hi 👋 I’m Marie and I specialise in creating bespoke celebration and wedding cakes in and around West Sussex, that taste as good as they look.

But there’s a lot more to me than buttercream, cake tins and piping bags! 😂 So I thought it was about time I shared a few fun facts and let you get to know the person behind Pretty Bakes by Marie.

Not everyone dreams of a birthday cake… and that’s absolutely fine! 🤎✨

Earlier this year, I made these two brownie stacks for two very special 21st birthdays — Isobel and Eva.

Neither girl is particularly keen on cake, so I suggested my popular brownies stacked up into a show-stopping birthday tower instead. And honestly… I think they make a pretty fabulous alternative! 😍

My brownies are made with Belgian dark chocolate and finished with a silky milk chocolate ganache before being decorated with each birthday girl’s favourite treats.

🤎 Eva chose Kinder Bueno

Both were finished with gold metallic chocolate balls, white chocolate geometric hearts and a personalised glitter topper to make them completely their own. ✨

I love that something like a birthday cake can be so personal, and it’s always incredibly special to be trusted to create something for such an important milestone. Being a small part of someone’s 21st birthday celebrations is such an honour. 🥰

One of the most rewarding parts of creating wedding cakes is hearing from my couples after their special day. 🤍

Knowing that they loved their cake, that it looked just as they'd imagined, and that their guests enjoyed every slice means more to me than I can put into words.

Being trusted to create a centrepiece for one of the most important days of a couple's lives is such a privilege, and it's an honour to play a small part in so many wonderful celebrations.

To every couple who has chosen me to create their wedding cake and taken the time to share such kind words afterwards - thank you. It truly means the world. 🤍

🤍 Creating a wedding cake is about so much more than baking.

It starts with meeting my couples and hearing all about their plans. There's something really special about seeing their excitement as they talk about their venue, colour scheme, flowers and all the little details they've been dreaming about.

Then comes the creative process… bringing all those ideas together to develop a design concept that's completely unique to them. ✨

And, of course, there's the cake tasting! Preparing those little boxes of cake samples and discovering which flavours make the final cut is such a delicious part of the process. 🍰

Then it's time to bring the design to life.

The structure and technicality of a 2 or 3-tier cake is one of my favourite challenges. Starting with a blank canvas and gradually building the design, adding all those carefully considered details, while keeping my couple and their vision at the heart of every decision.

And then… wedding day! 💍

Arriving at the venue and seeing everything coming together is such a special moment. While the other suppliers are busy putting the finishing touches to the day, I get to create my own little workspace and carefully assemble the cake until I'm completely happy with the final look.

But perhaps the best part comes afterwards.

Hearing from my couples after their special day, finding out how much they enjoyed their cake and that their guests loved the flavours too, makes all the planning, baking and decorating worthwhile. ❤️

It's such a privilege to create something that becomes part of one of the biggest days of someone's life, and I'm incredibly grateful to every couple who trusts me to be part of their wedding day.

I really enjoyed making these little cuties as cupcake toppers for a recent birthday celebration 🩷

We used real marshmallows for their bodies, piped their sweet little faces with icing and added their tiny legs with fondant. They looked so cute perched on a bed of creamy vanilla buttercream, piped in a soft ombré from pink to white 🩷🤍

Such a fun way to bring a favourite character to life in cake form! 🧁

I’ve always loved creating Lambeth-style cakes, so I was so excited when Elle asked me to make one for her birthday.

She chose a gorgeous colour palette of coffee, chocolate and cream, finished with 8 gold candles to mark the occasion. As she was expecting around 50 guests, we opted for a square cake to make portioning nice and easy without compromising on style.

To bring her vision to life, I invested in some new specialist piping nozzles so I could create the beautiful ruffles and intricate details that make Lambeth cakes so timeless. I finished the design with metallic gold balls from for an extra touch of elegance.

The cake was delivered to , and the best part? Hearing afterwards that her guests thought it was absolutely delicious. There really isn’t a better compliment. 💛

A whopping 10kg superhero cake designed to feed up to 92 guests at Ayrton’s 4th birthday—so heavy I seriously needed Hulk to 'SMASH' out and carry it for me! 😂💥👊

🏁💨 Start your engines… Teddy just turned TWO in style! 💨🏁

This fun-filled Cars-themed cake was an absolute joy to create, featuring everyone’s favourite speedy racer and his trusty sidekick 🚗✨ From the Route 66 vibes to the desert cacti and racing flags, every detail was designed to bring a little adventure to Teddy’s special day!

Topped with a bold number 2 trophy 🏆and finished with playful textures and colours, this cake is perfect for any little car lover.
