North Somercotes WI A fun loving group of women getting together to learn new skills, meet like-minded friends and sometimes even make jam!

We meet the 1st Thursday of the month in St Mary's Church Hall, North Somercotes 7.00pm. Why not come and visit us one meeting and see what antics we get up to? The WI is non-party political and non-sectarian. We don't care about religion, colour or ethnicity; we don't even care if you can't knit or bake (we'll teach you if you want us to). We do care that you are interested in getting to know oth

er local women, being involved in your community, in learning, and in enjoying yourself! Membership costs £46 for which there are a minimum of 11 monthly meetings. Members receive 8 copies a year of WI Life magazine, and monthly LNFWI News, our Federation newsletter. If you would like to visit us to get an idea of what we're all about, you're very welcome to attend a meeting. Just come along, we will be delighted to see you! Contact us

Well done NSWI 👏 every year we raise funds for a local charity. This year we chose Bob's Brain Waves. Throughout the year via fund raising events, we raised £1065. Chris Suich, Bob's wife, was invited to give a talk on coping with dementia and to explain the pack she had created for carers. The pack holds many forms which can help with finances, help available and good advice to how to help someone with dementia or Alzheimer's. Chris gave us many memories of the time she looked after Bob's before he had to go into a home for safety reasons. Many of us could identify with what she said. The evening ended with a presentation of the cheque to Chris followed by lots of chatter and catching up with each other and a super supper.
