F I N A L L Y M A R R I E D 🤍

I had the absolute honour of being asked to make one of my best and oldest friend’s wedding cake last weekend. It’s always so much more nerve wracking baking for someone you know, even more so when you’re there for the cake being cut and eaten!

The bride ‘doesn’t like cake’ so it was important that we found a flavour she might actually enjoy and eventually settled on a brown sugar sponge with a salted caramel filling which thankfully she loved!

This was an 8” two layer heart cake together with a selection of mini cupcakes, all decorated with the prettiest of edible dried flowers 🩷

Although these cakes might seem simple to some, for various reasons they have all pushed me out of my comfort zone and I stressed about them all in the lead up to making them!

My little brain likes to think it can’t do things, and at least two of these I was making whilst repeatedly saying to my husband ‘this is awful, I can’t send this out, what am I going to do’ and then I look at the finished results and love them all!

I have to remember sometimes that it’s good being out of my comfort zone and that I can do it 💪🏻

That said, please don’t ask me for complicated cakes for my own sanity 🤣

When you can’t decide between cookies or cupcakes, why not have both!

This was a mix of chocolate cupcakes topped with buttercream, white hazelnut spread and white chocolate Lindt Lindor truffles and triple chocolate NYC style cookies.
