The edible lace and pearls came later, layered in to add texture and movement without losing that simplicity. Each flower is hand-made from sugar and hand-painted to look lifelike — down to the last petal — finished with sugar lace appliqué and cascading pearl strands that catch the light exactly the way the bride’s own gown would.
