24/12/2025
Well it’s that time of year when the ovens temporarily cool and we take a bit of a break to recharge and reflect. 2025 has been a really tough year for us business wise. I know that I’m not alone in feeling that. Small businesses, their owners and staff have been feeling the effects of the economy and customers feeling the pinch for a while now and I take my hat off to them all. It’s really stressful but building a business from nothing and growing it over the years is a true passion of mine. None of it would be possible without my amazing team of talented and super creative artists. You are incredible. And we’d have no business without our wonderful customers, some of whom we have known for 17 years worth of celebrations. I love seeing them come back year after year and let us know what their kids are into each time and what they’ve been up to. It’s one of my favourite parts of the business. Thank you so much for your support.
Thank you to everyone who buys our cakes but also likes, comments and shares our posts and supports my cake baby. I started this business on my kitchen table in a one bedroom flat, moved to a shop in Southfields for 10 years and now we are in an industrial unit near Wimbledon. It’s been a crazy ride that has stood alongside me having 3 human babies, a 9 month trip around the world and a personal move to the countryside from London. A companion that has reintroduced me to wonderful people from my past and people who are my present and future.
So long live Cakes by Robin! It’s tough but we will get through this tricky economic time and carry on making epic creations like this one for many years to come.
Merry Christmas to all our loyal and faithful customers. I truly appreciate your support and kindness and wish you health, happiness and prosperity in 2026 and beyond and obviously a Free Palestine
