A little something I've been working on recently. 🤍

These hand-modelled figures have now joined my growing collection of cake toppers and display pieces.

I originally created them simply because I could... but also because celebrating all love stories matters.

Every wedding I create a cake for is important to me. Every couple has a story, and every love story deserves to be celebrated beautifully.

That said, I will always admit to feeling a particular sense of pride and honour when I receive an enquiry from an LGBTQ+ couple. When I think about the struggles so many people have faced over the years to have their love, relationships and rights recognised, being trusted to play a small part in that celebration feels incredibly special.

Having witnessed some of those challenges faced by people I care about, being trusted to create a cake for such an important milestone always feels especially meaningful.

I was also inspired by a wonderful photograph displayed by at the Islington Town Hall wedding fair earlier this year (which may explain the colour of the suits! 😄). My little homage doesn't do the original image justice, but it certainly sparked the idea.

Love is love, and every couple deserves a cake that reflects their story. 🌈🤍

✨ Some cakes travel further than others... ✨

A little while ago, I shared that I had received an order from Singapore for delivery here in London.

Today, that cake found its way to its destination.

When Nesh got in touch, they wanted to surprise someone very special and celebrate their anniversary with a cake fit for a princess.

And honestly, as someone who is a complete romantic at heart, I loved creating this one.

Adorned with fondant swags, bows, pearls, a sparkling crown and a personalised anniversary plaque, this elegant design was created to mark a very special milestone.

Inside was rich Dark Chocolate Mud Cake, indulgent, decadent and perfect for a celebration.

On Friday, the cake was delivered to the beautiful Pan Pacific London, where it became part of an anniversary celebration carefully planned from the other side of the world.

It never ceases to amaze me that a conversation that begins in my little East London kitchen can end up connecting people across continents and become part of such meaningful moments.

Happy Anniversary, Nesh. Thank you for trusting me with your surprise and allowing me to play a small part in your celebration. 🤍

👉 Swipe to follow the cake's journey from my East London kitchen to Pan Pacific London.

And yes, after navigating City traffic, delivering the cake and making sure everything was perfect, there may have been time for a quick celebratory glass of wine before the journey back home. 🍷

Almost twenty-six years ago, I got married... and forgot to collect the wedding cake.

Which is very amusing considering I now make wedding cakes for a living.

My husband and I had a small, intimate wedding in Devon with a handful of our nearest and dearest.
It was wonderfully unconventional and very us.
I was given away by a very dear friend, we had a fire-eater at the reception, and despite all our planning, we managed to forget several rather important details...
Including the wedding cake.
In fact, we only remembered it on the day when we arrived at the riverside pub in Tamar where our reception was being held.
As we pulled up outside, the pub owners leaned out of the window and mused, "That looks like a bridal party heading our way..."

We'd forgotten to contact them again after our initial enquiry to confirm we were actually coming!

Somehow, despite the odd 😜thing slipping through the net, we managed to organise the entire wedding in the days before the internet. No Pinterest, no wedding blogs, no online directories... just determination, a telephone and the Yellow Pages!

Looking back, it still makes us laugh.

When we returned to the pub a year later with our baby in tow, the owners proudly showed us the scorched ceiling left behind by the fire-eater's performance. Apparently our wedding had made quite an impression!

And despite all of that, it was one of the most wonderful days of my life.

This post was inspired by China from , whose recent reflections on her own wedding prompted me to share a few memories from ours.

Working in weddings now gives me an even greater appreciation for the talented planners and suppliers who quietly keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Twenty-six years later, we're still married, still laughing about it, and thankfully these days I remember the cake.

Swipe to see a few photographs from our special day.

We didn't even hire a photographer. Instead, we gave our guests disposable cameras and hoped for the best.

There are many pics of people's feet, random scenery and the pub floor, but no fire-eating or cake!

I'd love to know... what's the funniest thing that happened on your wedding day?

A little update from me regarding Wedding Cake Consultations ✨

Swipe through for a little glimpse behind the scenes of the design process, from luxury tasting sample boxes and bespoke consultation presentations, through to original sketch concepts and the finished wedding cake displayed on the big day. 🤍

Over the past few years my consultations have evolved into so much more than simply “talking about cake”. They are now a fully personalised design experience where couples and I work together to create something special for their wedding celebration.

Each consultation currently includes:
-A 45 minute–1 hour design consultation
-A luxury tasting sample box featuring six carefully curated flavours, with two servings of each included
-A bespoke presentation tailored to your wedding
-Three original cake concepts with quotations
-Guidance on sizing, styling, servings & overall cake design direction

There is a huge amount of time, thought, sketching, preparation and creativity that goes on behind the scenes before we even meet, from preparing your sample box to creating bespoke concepts tailored specifically to your celebration.

With this in mind, from 1st June 2026 the price of the Wedding Cake Consultation & Tasting Experience will increase from £65 to £70.

Any consultations booked before 1st June will remain at the current price.

Thank you so much for continuing to support my small business, my creativity and my little world of cake design. It genuinely means more than you know. 🤍🥹

One of the loveliest and most surreal parts of running Razzmatazz Cakes is realising that people from all over the world somehow find my little cake studio in London.

Over the past few years I’ve been lucky enough to create cakes for clients celebrating from abroad, each one completely different and personal to them.

From a romantic white wedding cake commissioned by a couple from Washington D.C., adorned with handcrafted sugar flowers and delicate pearl detailing…

…to a playful travel-inspired birthday cake ordered by a boyfriend from Texas for his partner whilst travelling through Europe, celebrating their London stop with edible photographs, travel motifs and little nods to their adventures together…

…to a Valentine’s cake commissioned from India, featuring a soft blush heart design finished with an oversized black bow for a modern romantic feel.

And soon, another international commission from Singapore will be joining the collection too. 🌍

Whether we’re planning across time zones, discussing sketches over email late at night or organising surprise deliveries from thousands of miles away, it honestly never stops feeling special that people trust me to create cakes for such important moments in their lives.

London based. Creating bespoke wedding & celebration cakes for clients near and far.

Another wedding cake safely delivered today for Grace & Gerard 🤍

These edible modelling chocolate cherries honestly turned out even better than I’d hoped.🍒

The brief was modern, clean and understated:
smooth lines, delicate piping and cherries.

Interestingly, I dealt mostly with Grace’s mum throughout the process which seems to be happening more and more these days 😂 parents quietly heading out on wedding reconnaissance missions on behalf of their children before bringing them the best suppliers and ideas.

Inside the cake:
🍰 Coconut & Raspberry
🍰 Classic Vanilla

Delivered and set up at Pedro's Wine Bar , which turned out to be another hidden London gem with such a cool atmosphere. The smell of the food being prepared while I was setting up was incredible.

Sadly, in true Razz fashion, I forgot to properly film the venue interior 🤦🏽‍♀️ but I did manage to catch the owner shining a light on the cake for me and telling me it was perfect which honestly made me laugh and well up🥹.

Huge congratulations again to Grace & Gerard and thank you for trusting me with such a special part of your day.

Some collections stay with you long after the cake has left the studio.
Today Paul collected his daughter’s wedding cake, after months of the loveliest communication with his wife Mary all the way from Washington D.C. What makes this even sweeter is that their daughter apparently doesn’t even like wedding cake… but Mary was absolutely determined to prove her wrong 😄
The cake itself was a rich salted caramel cake filled with silky white chocolate ganache, caramel buttercream, and salted caramel sauce, so Mary may well succeed in converting at least one wedding cake sceptic at the reception.
And honestly, moments like this remind me why I love what I do so much.
Not only did they place their trust in me to create something special for such an important day, but they arrived with the most thoughtful gifts and kind words that genuinely moved me more than I can say. The handwritten card, the treats, the warmth, it made me feel so incredibly appreciated.
As cake designers, we spend countless quiet hours creating behind the scenes, sketching, baking, ganaching, covering, wiring flowers, obsessing over tiny details most people will never even notice.
So when clients take a moment to truly acknowledge the craft and care behind it, it means the world.
I don’t just cherish the cakes I create, I cherish the people I meet through them too. 🤍
Thank you Mary & Paul for your kindness, your warmth, and for making this collection feel so special. I hope with all my heart that the wedding cake converts at least one non-believer! 🤍

Emma & Rhys 🤍

I was chuffed to return to Stationers’ Hall with this elegant two-tier design, and it was such a lovely change to create a traditional brandy fruit cake.

Rich with plump, boozy fruits, nuts and warming spices, this was a classic at heart, balanced with delicate edible lace for a soft, romantic finish.

My handcrafted sugar poppies complemented the whimsical, airy table arrangements perfectly… everything felt effortlessly in harmony .

Stationers’ Hall is always a favourite of mine, a venue steeped in history and full of character. I’m so looking forward to returning later this year.

Huge congratulations, Emma & Rhys 🥂
Thank you for trusting me with such a special part of your day. 🤍

All white. All movement. No florals ✨

Three tiers of Classic Vanilla, Luscious Lemon, and Coconut & Raspberry, wrapped in a flawless white finish and brought to life with sweeping fondant sails that climb the cake like soft, sculptural flames.

Chloe & Neve had such a clear vision having been inspired by the fondant sails wedding cake I created last year, and wanted a centrepiece that was modern yet romantic with movement.

I so enjoyed translating their inspiration into something elegant and expressive. The kind of design that feels simple at first glance, but reveals so much more the longer you look.

And the fact this came together in just four weeks makes it all the more special.

Delivered to Frederick’s in Islington — such a beautiful, light-filled space — where this piece felt completely at home. 🤍

Sometimes everything just aligns… the brief, the setting, the moment.

And this was one of those times.

This was a great cake to kickstart my wedding season and I cannot wait to make more wedding cake dreams come true this year.

Wishing Chloe & Neve a lifetime of love and happiness. Thank you for entrusting me with your cake. 🥹😊x

A little behind-the-scenes moment… and one I’m very proud of ✨

This week’s kitchen trials have been all about refining a flavour that so many of you lit up about at the last wedding fair, and this one is quietly standing out from the rest.

Sticky toffee pudding.
Soft, moist sponge enriched with dates and treacle.
Deep, layered notes of caramel running through every bite.

Balanced, comforting, and indulgent, with just enough lightness to keep you coming back for more.

For finished cakes, this flavour will be paired with my signature dark chocolate ganache, bringing depth, structure, and that unmistakable Razzmatazz finish.

Would you consider this flavour for your special celebration cake?
