We run events for new business executives, managers and directors working in the creative sector. For each event we select speakers who can inspire our network to think differently about what they do and how to do it. That means better people, better processes, better tools and better results.

Today marks five years since the first ever Art of New Business event! 🥂Thanks to everyone who has hosted us, spoken, sponsored and attended our events over those years 🤜🏻We started running our events because people typically thought winning new business was short-hand for cold calling, taking people out for lunch and pitching when infact, it took so much more back then and even more now!!! Since 2011, we have championed the belief that new business is an art and not a numbers game and gathered along the way friends, speakers and clients who also believe this statement to be true. We've been delighted to uncover so many of you! So much has changed in our industry over the last five years, one of those things being that cold calling and the sending of unsolicited direct mail and email gets the bad name it deserves (which unfortunately isn't the same as people stopping doing it all together, but hey! It's something). We like to think we've had a lot to do with the bad-mouthing these tactics get and we're very very happy to have created events that have enabled new business professionals to leave their desks, learn some new skills and feel like there is a community out there which has the same challenges as they do. We have always said that "new business is a tough job but someone has to do it"...and felt proud to finish off that line with... "if that person is you, we're here to help". We hope we have ❤️

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
As Chief Marketing Officer, International at DigitasLBi, Fern has overall responsibility for the agency’s new business, marketing and brand strategy in the UK and internationally.
Until December 2015, Fern was Chief Strategy Officer, International at DigitasLBi, leading the agency’s planning discipline across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

In her previous role as planning director at creative agency Karmarama, Miller worked for brands including the BBC, lastminute.com and Unilever. She has extensive experience working on campaigns across the banking, FMCG, charity and retail sectors and has also held senior positions at DLKW, JWT and Delaney Fletcher Bozell.
