It’s been a few weeks since we closed our doors at Crate St James Street.
There are no words to describe how humbling this experience has been- painful, sad, exhausting.. yes but humbling also.
We feel so proud to have been part of this community. Thank you for letting us share your everyday and special moments. From first news of pregnancies unsure what to eat and fighting the nausea, to welcoming those babies in their first trips out, birthday brownies, Christmas cheese celebrations and Sunday morning cinnamon bun dates. Work from home lunches and family visiting. We’ve loved being a part of it.
Our mission has always been spreading joy through food, making someone’s day a little brighter. I think we achieved that.
This picture of our team was taken at the end of our last day, queues out the door for hours. Thank you to everyone who came down. And an extra special thank you to our team who worked so hard , all with a giggle and a smile. We are so lucky to have gotten the chance to work with you all ( past and present our team has been unbelievable ❤️ and feel like family) Thank you Freya, Clem, Max, Tilly, Lois, Nick, DeCarno, Amber, Tanya, Eve, Alannah, Elis, Zeki and there’s more - you made Gather a joy. Thank you.
And whilst this isn’t good bye , we are taking some time to look at our situation, opportunities and future. We wish you happy eating until then !
