Soooo, I havent posted on here for a looonnggg time! TBH the nightmare I had with my daughter's cake threw me, and I haven't had the confidence to bake for 6 months. I even turned down orders!

Today, when I collected my daughter from school, she tells me there's a school party the next day, and they can bring in treats - could I make some cupcakes? So I thought, yeah sure, cupcakes, that's easy! After 2 hours of quiet cursing (did baking always create this much mess?!), we had 18 chocolate cupcakes! They weren't the greatest, in fact they were definately wonky! Nothing special... but a small win for me and my confidence! I'd forgotten the joy of baking for me.

30 mins afterwards, the school messages to remind us no homemade goods and no nuts! 🤦‍♀️

Ahhh well, at least hubby gets to take them into work and gush about his wonderful wife (I hope!). And in the time its taken me to write this, there are only 15 cupcakes left! 🥰

The candles burnt Cinderella's chin, singed her fringe, and there's also sooooo much leftovers (we'll be eating cake for a week after!)

Ahhh well, its only once a year, right?!

It's a miserable, wet, cold Sunday... only thing to do is bake... chocolate and raspberry cupcakes (custard on the way)....

So I got married last month (yeay!), and the one question I was asked most was "Are you making your own cake?!" As a hobby baker the temptation was too great... But I didn't want the added stress.

So I compromised... I made the base using polystyrene (green with artificial grass, petals with sugarpaste) and I also made two extra cutting cakes. The main cake was made by GC Couture.

I was proud to have the opportunity to make my own cake and you can never have enough cake!... I didn't even get to taste any, as it all went! 🤗
