Morning everyone,

I’ve been creating celebration cakes for over 9 years now, and it has been the most amazing time. Having my cakes feature in the most memorable moments of your lives; beautiful weddings, awesome birthday parties and milestone anniversaries makes my job so special, and I can tell you each cake has been made with care and love ❤️

Today, I announce that I’m starting a new adventure, the wonderful Parish of Brentford have given me the most amazing opportunity to open up a cafe/coffee shop at St Paul’s Church in Brentford.

Spire Cafe opens its doors this coming Monday 23rd August at 8.30am 😬 😀

So, that I can focus on getting the cafe up and running I’ve made the decision to step away from creating celebration cakes for the time being. I have a couple of orders to fulfil which I’m looking forward to making in the coming weeks, but ultimately my days will be spent now baking yummy pastries, gigantic cookies and delicious cafe style cakes served alongside amazing coffee from Caravan Coffee Roasters and delightful tea.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your support, your likes, loves, shares and of course your cake orders over these past 9 years it’s been amazing, but it’s not over, I’m just pressing the pause button for a little while.

So, if you find yourself in Brentford (we are a Premier League town now) then do come along and see us at Spire Cafe and enjoy a cuppa, a chat and some cake 🍰 I’ve attached a leaflet below.

I’ll keep you posted on how things are going and piccies of the cakes and bakes that I’ll be creating, but do pop in a see me if your in the area.

Congratulations to Kayleigh and Wayne who got married today at the beautiful Cain Manor.

A huge thank you to Laura Gooding for the wedding flowers. Laura’s flower creations are spectacular!!!

Wow it’s been such a crazy cake week since being back from our holidays in Dorset, but came back to create these awesome Harry Potter cakes for siblings Edison and Romilly’s birthday celebrations.

Each year the kids send me their design ideas and I transform them into cakes 😁

Due to covid, wish cakes have become a popular addition to the main celebration cake. They are mini cakes, just big enough for a candle to be added and blown out during the renditions of “happy birthday”. So Romilly and Edison also had their own personalised wish cakes 🎂

Wishing Steve a very happy 50th birthday!!

His wife contacted me a few months ago to design this space themed cake and it needed to feature some key details.

The Saturn V Rocket, the Apollo Lunar module and the Beagle 2 lander which you can see on the planet Mars (not to scale 😉.

I absolutely loved making this cake and even had my children’s encyclopaedias out to help get the planets colour schemes right as I needed reminding.

Cake is 10” lemon sponge filled with lemon curd and lemon buttercream. 😋

I delivered this designer bag cake today so that Emily could enjoy early 18th birthday celebrations with her friends over the weekend.

Her cake is a yummy gluten free red velvet and the bags are made using gluten free “puffed wheat” mashmallows and butter. Then decorated to look like Emily’s favourite brands

Luis Vuitton, Chanel and Holland Cooper.

It was a fun cake to make.

Cute garden themed cupcakes in little flower pots which I made for my daughter Ivy’s school. Today they celebrated the opening of their school allotment.

Due to privacy I didn’r take any photos of the garden, but trust me a lot of hard work and dedication has been given by teachers, children and parents of the school over the past few months, and they are growing radishes, potatoes, beans, flowers and many more wonderful things. Also we saw ladybirds and butterflies also enjoying the garden/allotment.

Such a lovely way to finish off the week. 🌸 🍅 🥕

Congratulations to Rebekah and Bradley who got married yesterday.

I had the pleasure of making their wedding cake, which was a delicious gluten free red velvet cake.

I was so happy to see the sun shining yesterday for them, as all through the week rain had be predicted. ☀️ 😁

Wishing dear Scarlett, and very happy 11th birthday for today.

Scarlett was very clear in what she wanted for her cake this year, and as she’s a huge BlackPink fan (KPop group) this was the request this year. Apparently the pop group have a song called “ice cream” so this was a great idea for the design.

The little Ice cream cones on the side are filled with layers of vanilla sponge, raspberry jam and buttercream, all topped off with a cute buttercream swirl and sprinkles. The upside down ice cream on top of the cake is in fact a vanilla cake pop which I covered in pink chocolate and added a yummy waffle cone.

Our families have known each other for a few years now, our love for football club QPR unites us 😝 so it was an absolute pleasure to make their wedding cake for them today.

So after the weekends Harry Potter party, today is our daughter Ivy’s actual 9th birthday

As I’m a cake maker I sometimes use my own children’s birthdays to try out new ideas, and this year I experimented using rice paper sails. It’s a technique I’ve been wanting to try for a while.

Perhaps the design is slightly old for a 9 year old, but Ivy loved it and the colours looked amazing. ❤️

Happy birthday to our little whirlwind Ivy 🙂

Yesterday was our daughter Ivy’s 9th birthday party (birthday on Wednesday next week), but we celebrated with her school friends yesterday. In amongst all the chaos of organising party games, slime potions, lucky dip, picnic boxes and dodging the rain showers, I completely forgot to take any decent photos of her cake 🙄
