At e5, bread has always meant more than food — it’s care, community, and connection.
We’re proud to support the incredible work of Bake for Ukraine through their Bake the World a Better Place charity T-shirt — a project that brings together craft, culture, and real impact.
For over four years, Bake for Ukraine has been supporting bakers across Ukraine to keep ovens on and bread moving — delivering free sourdough loaves to those who need it most, often in frontline communities where access to food is limited or impossible.
This T-shirt tells that story.
On the back, the full journey of sourdough — from starter to loaf — captured through the hands of baker Marina Botsu.
Feed it with care. Knead it with energy. Fold it with patience. Bake it with fire. Share it with love.
On the front, a tribute to Ukrainian baking traditions — from Palyanytsya to Zavivanets — recipes that carry history, identity, and resilience.
Created in Odesa, under incredibly difficult conditions, this piece brings together a community of bakers, designers, and makers who continue their work no matter what. It’s thoughtful, intentional, and made to last — just like the values behind it.
This is more than a T-shirt.
It’s a way to stand with a community.
To support real people, in real time.
To keep bread where it’s needed most.
We have a limited number available at e5 in Hackney — once they’re gone, they’re gone.
All proceeds go directly towards baking and delivering free bread to those living in frontline villages across Mykolaiv and Kherson regions — many of them elderly people and families who cannot leave.
If this resonates, we encourage you to support, share, and be part of it.
