Pretty happy with this cake... My own plant-based recipe for cake and buttercream that uses unrefined sugars and wholemeal flour... 24 carrot taste and aesthetics, I like to think!! Caramelised walnuts and orange slices adorn the top to make for a delicious cake that showcases all things natural and not entirely unhealthy!

If I could, I would keep you little and with me forever, such is your light, your laughter and your kind, beautiful energy
But, what an adult you have become.
I know you are still trying to figure it all out but I am so proud of you, through all that life throws your way, and I know your future is super bright.

Cake requested: coffee and walnut
Decorated with caramelised walnuts, little blue flowers (a nod to stitch) and little blue bunnies (her favourite animal and also because we call her Boo Bunny)

Happy 22nd Birthday to my firstborn, erin 🤍, who wasn't really ready to join this world - it took 2 days to coax her out - and still thinks she isn't ready now.

But she so is...

Couldn't be prouder of this kid, currently acing her internship L'Oréal Paris Official L'Oréal Groupe where they have made her an account manager after less than 3 months!

If only she could see what I (and the rest of the woeld sees) - she is heavenly.

My kids had sadly grown out of the Julia Donaldson books before Zog came along... But I am a huge fan of her storytelling and we spent many a happy time with the Gruffalo, Stick Man... There was always room on the broom for her books. Never a squash or a squeeze to fit them into reading time. The perfect way to get kids excited about reading and such important time spent together. Before mobile phones and social media got in the way. I would give anything to have that back.

Arabella is already a big fan...It was as a toss up between the and for her cake. I'm a bit jealous that she has many more to discover still!!

Happy Birthday little lady - enjoy getting to know them all.

I love that our children are friends with our friends' children. It's one of the most special things about my friendship group.

Of course, I guess we are friends because the kids brought us to each other. They went to school together, or a club, bonded, grew up together. And now we get to celebrate all that on special occasions like Joe's 18th.

I love that our kids like hanging out with us too... Christmas Eve has become what my husband and I always talked about, a time to celebrate where we invite our friends and their kids want to come too.

I can't wait for 24th December. Don't get me wrong, I am not wishing the time away. I love the summer... Although I wouldn't mind a gentle breeze and some air conditioning right now... Or a December day just to cool down!
