🎉🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BABY BAKERY 🎉🎉
Six years ago today I opened The Female Glaze, in the middle of a global pandemic, with no savings and ✨ 2 trays ✨ to bake brownies. I didn’t quite know what I was doing but I knew I wanted to make lush vegan bakes that could do some good for the community 🫶🏼
In 6 years, The Female Glaze has changed so much, from markets to private events, new flavours, incredible collabs I could never have dreamed of (Le Cordon Bleu London ??? Hello????), a few mental breakdowns (🤪) and an insane amount of boxes I’ve personally packed for you with all my love (and tears sometimes ngl)
It’s still the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced: running a small business from a minuscule kitchen when the world is falling apart and selling pastries seems pointless. At least once a month I question if this is still worth it. But then I hear how much my friends still believe in me, I read your comments, I see your joy, I eat a cookie and I remember that there are still so many goals I want to achieve :)
So thank you for still choosing my silly little bakery after 6 years. I promise to keep offering you the best pastries, baked while I blast Olivia Rodrigo or a podcast about mental health 👩🏼🍳
And a special thank to the person who replies to all your emails and reminds me to do my tax return, none of this would be possible without my wife to be 👯♀️
