When you finally get to meet your hero 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Cupcake Jemma
Not ashamed to admit that I burst into floods of tears when she came downstairs to meet Alfie. His face was an absolute picture.
He had no idea we were taking him there as it was a surprise, but as he approached her shop Crumbs and Doilies Cupcakes & saw it you could see the recognition on his face.
As soon as we went in he straight away was asking for Jemma & even called the lady serving behind the counter Jemma (she did look similar!) & it was that lady that told him she wasn’t Jemma but Jemma was upstairs filming & she would go & get her!!!
She is hardly ever there in her Soho shop so it must have been fate that she was there in the day we went!
Don’t think Jemma actually appreciates how much she has done for Alfie without ever knowing it. He has watched her (& Sally & Dane!) for literally forever & the reason I started Baking With Alfie with him was so that I could work on his speech & language & also fine motor skills in a fun way via baking.
She was so lovely to him when she met him & even went back upstairs to get the new Christmas NYC Cookie that she was there to film the making of (Chocolate Orange) to give him, it was still hot!
We bought some other NYC Cookies & then went off to find somewhere nice to eat them & reflect on what had just happened 😊😊😊
