This cake was one of my absolute favourites of last year. Noami was the driving force for shape and length of this cake. I love how the cake was transformed from a plain block of cake and buttercream to this wonderful piece of art. Thank you to for capturing it so beautifully!

Mark and Frank’s cake from last year. I loved the entire process, from the enquiry to the tasting to our development of the colour and design to the set up and delivery! It was such a treat to work with these lovely men and don’t they look splendid?!!

What I didn’t love, was managing, after I delivered and set up the cake, to lock my car keys in the boot of my car so I could not get into the car (I only opened the boot and not the actual car…. So many lessons learned that day!) and drive back home. Instead I had to wait at at the bar of the Hoxton Hotel for my Dad to bring me my spare set of keys! Thank goodness for Dad and what a day! My little escapade allowed me the rare pleasure of getting my own photo of the happy couple! Silver linings everywhere!

After the most wonderful class with I am in love with the variety and versatility of wafer paper flowers. This four tier Beaty was covered in all manner of petals and roses. The theme was rose.

After a summer full of wonderful wedding and celebration cakes, autumn started with this commission for an autumnal wedding cake for Kim and Andrew. I am endlessly fascinated by how different a cake looks in different lighting so here is the same cake in three different approaches to lighting. Congratulations Kim and Andrew!

I was finishing off a wedding cake in when a man came up to me. He looked familiar but I couldn’t place him. Well it turns out I made his wedding cake the year before and had recommended me to the couple whose wedding cake I was finishing. I cannot tell you how touched I was about how much they loved their cake but also for sending me these glorious photos! Congratulations Guy and Ishani!

This week has been about flowers. asked me to make a cake to celebrate their 5 year anniversary and it was such a joy to make this. Their space and their work is wonderful and if you don’t yet have a green thumb I’m sure their new book by “What Grows Together” will able a great place to start! Happy Anniversary
