Why the Rebrand?

Stef’s Brownies has grown and evolved over the years and it’s time for my brand to do the same.

The name, , perfectly represents the average oven temperature for most of my bakes, covering brownies, cookies and all forms of cakes… including my passion for creating weird conceptual art with fondant/sugar paste.

Thank you for supporting Stef’s Brownies all these years, it’s been an absolute blast and I look forward to seeing you at … and I’ve got something wonderful to share with y’all over there in a few hours time.

I’ve never been one to play it safe or follow the crowd especially when it comes to my sugar craft creations.

This week has been very challenging getting projects sorted out and boy am I relieved that they’re done… and comfortably ahead of schedule too.

Without saying too much, I’ll just leave you here with this image… remnants of the airbrushing phase for a very special project due next week.

A lovely (and relaxing) wonder around the old town early this morning commencing from Hadrian’s Gate, slowly making our way down the little winding walkways dotted with beautiful boutique hotels, cafes and lots of souvenir shops.

Along the way, we stopped by an inviting cafe overlooking the cove and ‘harbour’ where we were 2 days ago… I’ll post it in my Story later on. For now, we look forward to food 😂 cos it’s lunch time.

Yesterday we had an hour’s worth of therapy… on the beach, watching the gentle ripples of the Mediterranean Sea’s crystal clear waters doing its thing over the smooth rounded pebbles.

This magnificent sight of Old Town, Antalya certainly took my breadth away.

A much welcome break after last 2 weeks’ insanely crazy baking schedule whilst working on 2 hush hush projects (simultaneously) which I still have a lot to catch up on.

For now, it’s all about taking time out to recharge and refresh… especially catching up on sleep (and naps obviously).

Soz I’ve been MIA for a while but I can tell yer, hush hush top secret caking kinda thingys are taking place behind da scenes… wink wink.

For now, I’m distracting you with this whopper of a brownie, weighing at almost 1.8kg. Adjustments of recipe and oven temperature to accommodate a much larger tray, yielding more slices.

Anyway, as for the hush hush too secret caking kinda thingy mentioned, you’ll just have to trust me on this one… or 2. Patience please.

As most of you would have noticed, my projects are very much influenced by my heritage/background and here’s another one of them.

When Rainbow Dust Colours and Squires Kitchen gifted me a ‘Better Together’ box to celebrate both brands getting together, I couldn’t resist creating something oriental.

The image of a lantern suspended within a screen with cherry blossom flowers set against a blue backdrop with white cirebon clouds on the top and blue waves at the base encompasses a traditional old style oriental setting.

All colour hues were achieved through 2 main colours of pink and turquoise/blue (representing both brands). Gold sparkle dust provided warmth and bling, bringing the whole project together.

Whilst I’m waiting for the completed project to ‘dry out’, here’s a little pre-sparkle dust and pre-gold leaf post.

This was also the phase before cleaning up traces of icing sugar and contemplating the positioning of the cherry blossom flowers.

Next post, the completed project… patience please.
